I have been offered a small " attendance fee " for a Commercial audition later this week for DS.
This is only his 3 rd one but I've never heard of such a fee have you ?
I am certainly not knocking it as it all helps towards fuel /car park / congestion fee ect !

A lot of adverts for children have a fee although some agents don't give it to the parents which I feel is not right as because children have to have a adult with them it's to help with the cost of the trip adults don't get a fee.

Ah, the random casting fee
Sadly it varies massively from client to client, just hope more offered it so just enjoy a little something back towards the travel cost x

We have been paid casting fees, more often for recalls.
I am all for them, mainly because the CDs might have to give more thought to what they want, before calling hundreds of kids, if there is a cost involved.
On the other hand, I know quite a lot of parents like the opportunity for their child to be called even if the odds are very long, because at least there's a chance of being cast, so pre-selection doesn't sit well.
Guess there is no right answer

I've always considered recall fees completely separate from a casting fee and seems all tvc particularly, will offer a recall fee, is not as random as the casting one!
Sadly there doesn't ever seem to be recall fees for theatre/film stuff, shame.

Yes, it's a bit random of when you do and when you don't get an audition fee but nice to get all the same.
Our agency doesn't charge their commission on the audition/recall fees either so they are a nice little bonus when they are available.

I've never heard of the casting fee, so had no idea they even existed.
DS has often been paid to attend callbacks though.
