Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
I've booked our tickets. We are seeing part I and II on the same day, only 343 days to go!
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
I believe they are using young adults to play the kids. What a shame.
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
I have heard that as well. All the characters are older teens so they will use young adults - no licensed kids
I'm swanning around trying to get the hang of all this! Thanks for your help!

Articles I have read mention Albus Potter being 11. I really hope they don't get an adult to play him...

Harry's kids aren't older teens if they are starting Hogwarts! They would be 11. I really hope
they use kids as it would be totally spoilt. The only theatre I did think using adults was acceptable was in Hetty Feather which DID work!!!
However they used young adults for thr ensemble in Bugsy Malone and it was such a shame! We will have to wait and see.

I see they have announced the cast for the grown up Harry, Hermione and Ron http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35149864
I am delighted they have gone for colour blind casting and given Hermione to a black actor. I have ranted on NAPM before about more needing to be done about it in the West End. Broadway is much better at it. So well done

Yes Broadway are better,Fantine was black in Les Miserables when we saw it this year and it didn't make one tiny bit of difference, nor should it.
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
Any more news on this one?
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
They are doing auditions through agents, but the children they call don't know anything of the carachter they are seen for The audition is run like an hour workshop.
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
Do you know what playing age range they are seeing ?
Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
they didn't give any information at all, but it looks like there will be children involved. my friend's dd is a 11 years old young looking.
