X Factor Musical - I Can't Sing

Post by emi's mum »

So it's been announced that the X factor musical will open at the palladium in feb next year. Not one I would be desperate to see I don't think.

It will go the way of Viva Forever!
There are so many things I would rather see! And this will NOT be on my list !

Ugh!!!

Why bother when there are so many good musicals or shows they could put on. Bring back Mary Poppins, Chitty and SoM :)

Wouldn't go to see this if the tickets were free

Couldn't agree more, if we don't want it, I wonder who would and will it forever be on reduced prices so poor tourists will see it and be duped into thinking it is representative of UK creativity and talent. Boo to this production. {evil}

This has got to be a joke hasn't it!!! What a waste of such a wonderful theatre. Isn't the Palladium one of the biggest too - a lot of empty seats me thinks!!!

So the Spotlight brief came out today. It's actually happening. A bit gutted really.... as Caroline AC said what a waste of a wonderful venue. I know we've not heard any of the writing yet but frankly just the though makes me get a headache. Let's wait and see if they cast ex TV talent show wannabes in the lead roles. Cheeky Girls anyone?

Ugh!!
It's just dire and depressing isn't it?
The Palladium?
That is total tragedy !!! I really hope this bombs and fails and I would never say that lightly because of all the people in the "business" that would be out of work, but its a sad day when X factor takes over our stages as well as our TV screens

A wonder what Mark Shenton is saying about it if anything?

Well, if the brief has gone out, at least they won't be launching a new programme to find the future leading man/woman as they did with SOM, Oliver etc. Can't really imagine why you would want to go and see a musical with "I Can't Sing" in the title!!!

I was hoping that this was a spoof or a joke - you have to be kidding!!!! Perhaps they might need a huge chorus of talented children to sing sweetly in the background???! I think that would be the only thing to swing it for me.

What a shame this is and what a joke! I won't be going to watch something like that, can't see anyone else paying west end theatre prices to watch such tripe either.
