That’s such devastating news for the students involved . I feel so bad for them . Imagine the upheaval of leaving home and signing a rental contract etc and then to have this happen .Hopefully something can be doneTess50 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 8:21 am Did anyone else hear that London Studio Centre have cancelled their ballet course just a couple of days ago - my daughter met one girl at the Laine auditions who is a fabulous dancer and decided on the ballet course there and had bought all her uniform etc and got her accommodation booked - some students had already moved to London from abroad and they just messaged them saying their course is not running - the poor girl is now looking at what to do ?

Re: Bird Reserve List
I know from the girls post it doesn't seem that anything else has been done for them by LSC but my heart breaks for them - just imaging how my girl would feel if she was in that situation - she was asking for advice on Instagram so not sure the ins and outs but I really hope they get sorted

Re: Bird Reserve List
Still movement on this. My dd is on diploma and still on degree reserve. A girl is moving into their flat who has been offered degree 2 weeks into the course so must be higher up the degree reserve list than she is.

How can they still be offering degree places at this stage 2-3 weeks into the course?Dancemum1973 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 11:27 am Still movement on this. Hi Munchpot, I’m busy reading through all the 2020 and 2021 posts as my DD is auditioning for 2021 entry. What is the deposit for Performers if an offer is made. ThanksMunchpot wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 4:08 pmCoingratulations - she'll love it at BirdDancemum1973 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 2:24 pm Take it! She would be mad not to. However we now need to get out of a flat contract and college contract!!!
Good luck with the contract - Performers should be OK - they can only keep your deposit if they don't full the space!

Hi Good luck with the auditions. I can't remember off the top of my head. I think it was between £500 and £1000 - but they may have changed in the last couple of years

Wow! that's very late to move but it shows if you aren't totally happy you can swap just like a regular degree.Dancemum1973 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 1:49 pm I am not sure. But definitely still movement. Also know a 2nd year left and gone to Wilkes this week.

Re: Bird Reserve List
If they moved on the degree they will have had to start again as they’re only in their first year, there’s no 2nd or 3rd year degree x

Brilliant! They’re also one of the few schools that also didn’t ask for an audition fee this year. All these things really help parents out especially with all that we’ve been through this year with lockdowns and people’s earnings being affected.dancelifemum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 2:07 pm No deposit for Performers at all....one of the few that don't ask!!
