jazzhandsmand wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2020 3:33 pm I know there has been a post before on here about hotels near Arts Ed but can't seem to find it. Any recommendations? Also any info on how Arts Ed auditions have been?
There is a small hotel opposite Artsed a little further up not sure how good it is. I think its called the Chiswick Court Hotel. Alternatively there is a premier Inn and the Clayton Hotel Chiswick.
Thanks. I saw the Chiswick Court Hotel but tbh it hasn't got very good reviews so might try the others.
There are 2 Premier Inns within fairly easy walking distance from Arts Ed. My daughter stayed in the Hammersmith one and walked there.

I wonder if Bird realise (or care) how unexciting it is to receive their letter as we just know it’s either going to be a no or reserve list, think most places are given out on the day. Don’t get me wrong, daughter was over the moon at being on the reserve list but they must miss out on some sensational performers who take up other offers cos they just can’t be bothered to wait and see if they’ll ever get a place from Bird!

We do know someone who heard yesterday she had an actual bird degree offer. She was also offered Laine on the day. She is very good.

The waiting is awful but it is a fairer system them some. My DD is in her second year and was told only about 10% get early offers (may already have A Level results etc or are so good their score puts them in that 10%) the rest are on reserve until everyone has had a chance to audition. It's horrible to wait - I know we've been there too

I know we were lucky getting offers early. Anyone waiting has my sympathy.
Maybe the volume of auditionees has increased as foundations audition as late as possible so it's just taking longer as the season progresses. Also maybe half term breaks cause a delay if admin are off?

Auditions were in half term and lots of staff were in. I think Laine had lots auditioning over the 2 weeks so the wait seems to have got longer as the week went on. People at the start of the week only had to wait 3 days whereas we are on day 10 now!

Does anyone know how long it will take after the dada funding auditions for decisions to be shared, my dd has hers on 27th April? Also can anyone confirm that if we get dada funding (won’t be eligible for maintenance part) that we will have to fund all of living costs? And she will not be eligible for universal credit? How do people manage we have estimated it would cost about 10k a year.? ](*,)
