The number of DaDa awards that each college has varies year by year depending on the income brackets of students but you can look up the most recent inspection reports to get a rough idea

Arts Ed - 111 DaDa 237 students (2015)
Bird 107 DaDa 123 students (has now risen to about 350) (2016)
Bodyworks 71 DaDa 119 students (2016)
Hammond 69 DaDa 80 students has now risen to about 90 (2015)
Italia Conti 64 DaDa 113 students (2016)
Laine 108 DaDa 222 students (2016)
Liverpool Theatre School 30 DaDa 37 students (2019)
Mountview 128 DaDa 266 students (2015)
Northern Ballet 62 DaDa 101 students (2015)
Oxford Drama 42 DaDa 76 students (2015)
Performers 75 DaDa 196 students (2015)
SLP 74 DaDa 91 students (2016)
Urdang 76 DaDa 214 students (2015)

I believe the list at Performers is moving now. DS was offered DaDa funding this week but has turned it down.

Are these dada award figures split over the 3 years....for example urdang 76 dada...is that spread across all 3 year groups or 1st year intake do you know?

Across all 3 year groups. The OFSTED reports just give the total number of students studying on those courses and the total in receipt of a DaDa.

Yes. Doesn’t that coincide with the move to the new premises and increased studio space and facilities ?

I wouldn’t know to be honest but that would explain such a jump. My daughter only auditioned this year and was offered Foundation there but decided to take Pre-Voc at Performers instead. I do wonder how many are on this Bird reserve list though as she had 3 friends from school who also auditioned and all 3 are on the reserve list, might just be a coincidence.

This is the DaDa funding for each of the colleges for next year. Also don't forget that Bird has lowered it's fees to £9,250 in line with the degree whereas many others have kept theirs at £14,000 or so. Also, the funding is the total for the year for all 3 year groups so roughly a third of it for this year's intake:

ARLA £ 807,920
Arts Ed £ 1,269,207
Bird £ 1,185,637
Bodyworks £ 542,775
Elmhurst £ 265,707
ENBS £ 536,899
Hammond £ 737,090
Italia Conti £ 784,424
Laine £ 1,028,897
Liverpool Theatre £ 480,676
Millennium £ 144,676
Mountview £ 1,741,238
Northern Ballet £ 609,291
Oxford School of Drama £ 519,232
Performers £ 542,570
SLP £ 723,181
Stella Mann £ 254,742
Tring Park £ 99,971
Urdang £ 838,591

This waiting is killing me! Do any of your DCs know of any boys who have been offered funding at Laine but haven’t made their mind up yet as they have other offers? Just trying to gauge how realistic it is for the list to move. My DS is currently #2 on the boy’s reserve list and he’s desperate to start making plans.

Have Tring got their funding back after their admin error 3 years ago then? I know they were hoping too.

Where are those figures from. I didn’t know they’d been published anywhere.

That’s interesting about Bird lowering their fees yet still keeping the same contact hours I presume. What are there class sizes like?

www.gov.uk I think .... They weren't that hard to find and they certainly weren't secret. No idea on Bird's class sizes but I think it's difficult to justify different fees for diploma and degree when they're essentially doing the same for most of the time so I support that completely. I think they take around 50 diploma students (some flexibility on numbers there) and around twice as many degree students. I presume contact hours are the same as they are in line with degree students. At least they get value for money at PA colleges with contact hours!!

I think there’s roughly 27 in a class at Bird. Hours are around 40/45 hours a week plus more if you want to join in on extra classes! My dd loves it there x

Fairly largish classes than. At my daughter’s college there are between 8 -23 in a class (depending on the split of MT And dance course students. My husband used to teach at Bird, fabulous college, but it was a lot smaller back then.

I’ve searched for those DaDa figures in the past and never been able to find them.
