That's great we are on second follow up letter so hopefully soon!
Also, does anyone know if the HB stops when the course finishes or when the lease finishes?
Thanks
Well after an epic battle with Gulidford council we finally got his housing benefit approved on appeal . Was a little stressful at times but we got there in the end. I'm guessing it stops when the lease finishes or you tell them otherwise - lets wait and see.

Great news. Shame they make it so hard. If you get it it is lawful that you should have it so why try and block that? Well we know it's because of cuts but still not right to do that.sailorgirluae wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 6:11 pmcoolcatsmomma wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 9:10 pmHi Sailorgirluae - did you have any luck yet?coolcatsmomma wrote: Fingers crossed for you

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
I wonder if anyone can give advice on how to convince Camden Council that Foundation course students are eligible for housing benefit? Those that have been successful, was there anything you said or provided that I could try? They have knocked us back several times and just say Foundation Courses aren’t eligible and also they are on Univeral Credit in their post code which when we look at the conditions of applying isn’t at all relevant (my dd would have to attend job centre interviews which is just not possible). It seems very unfair that some councils pay whilst others won’t. Any advice or suggestions most welcome. PM if you prefer. Thank you x

You will not be able to claim Housing Benefit on its own any more,it comes under Universal Credit and students no longer are entitled.
Such a shame that some areas have and others haven't.

Cookycrew I am totally distracted by the fact you seem to have a dancing Santa (hamster?!) next to your name. Marvellous!

I did it so long ago, I have no idea how I did it nor how to change it!
