Hi everyone can I just check something please, do all the colleges have their own agency? I know Bird and Urdang do but I don't think LSC do. Is this correct? With so many graduates now it's likely that not all will gain an independent agent so if they haven't even got access to the college one it will be even harder for them to get a professional contract.

No, many, many colleges do not have their own agancies. They are there to teach, being an agent is a specialised area and not all colleges have the inclination to take on that job.

I know Laine do and I believe they can stay with them for 1 year post grad! My daughter is in her 3rd year at LSC and its true they don't have an agency. But my daughter is in seedtime, the musical theatre stream, and they have an agents week in Jan/Feb where agents come and watch them perform! They have also had agents come in to college to speak to them! I think only 6 of last year's graduates didn't secure an agent by the end out of about 48-50

Most colleges do not have their own agencies. The whole purpose of the showcases at the end of the courses is to showcase to invited agents and get their students offers of representation. When DS was doing his showcase the agents left their card for those they were interested in representing and asked they they contact them. He was at Arts Ed and I am pretty sure that friends at other colleges went through the same process. Did not actually know some colleges had in-house agencies.

My understanding is that the colleges which do have in house agencies only keep them on for a year post graduation in any case. Cynics say that it allows them to claim that 100% of graduates leave with an agent. Others say that it just gives them time to find one if they aren't picked up by an independent agent at graduation. It is true that an agent is pretty much a must have to get work although there are most likely notable exceptions to the rule.
