I wold err on the side of caution with the uniform list…….DD (at Bird) hasn't worn half of hers!! They have to wear uniform for assessments, but it seems to be much more flexible for everything else! DD seems to live in cut off leggings/tights, big knickers (can't think of what else to call them….the hold you in ones from Primark that come up to your waist) and crop tops. I don't think the jazz trousers have even come out of the packet!

I'm doing a spreadsheet to see how much it will all cost  ](*,)

Some can only be bought from a supplier

I remember a friend who's daughter went to college last year, saying it cost her over £500 for the uniform.

Sorry Katymac can't remember where your dd is going, but it would be interesting to know how much it all comes to for hers.

The initial list isn't as bad as I thought - about £400

It's Performers pre-voc

I'd be interested in buying some second hand kit (if last years haven't worn them out :D )

They are different courses, so I guess they get sent out separately, but we got our list Friday lunchtime

& our list is only for 1 year; which is why I was so shocked!

Hi Bambi, have checked with DD and she confirmed that the jazz trousers were completely irrelevant…they've never left her drawer!!

She said the thick strap ballet leotard is the only one you actually have to have for assessments (she said they are stricter in first year, but as long as the leotard is a simple style it can be any black leo for normal ballet class)….other than that she said you will need black tights - lots of pairs - and Primark high-legged hold-em-in knickers (these are apparently essential but not on the list - DD wears a size 6 which is a tiny bit big but wearable!!) with either black leos (any) for contemporary, or coloured leos (any) for jazz and tap!! All the shoes are essential as is the MT skirt.

We were blown away by the show….absolutely loved it (we have loved every year!!), but can't believe DD is now a 3rd year….it just doesn't seem possible!!

Good luck…DD is happy to answer any questions! xx
