Well done on the full scholarship. What an achievement ! Is he travelling from far to get to school? That's my main concern for my dd at the minute.

Hi Jessica,
My dd has also been offered a place commencing September 2014 in yr 6.
So happy as she has been doing pt school since she was 4 and last year decided that this was going to be her secondary school.
We are sooo excited.

Hi all, I am very interested in all your comments on this, and the related threads. DS is very keen to apply for the FT school, but I am worried that although he does street dance and jazz he has never done ballet or tap. I would be grateful for any thoughts and insights. I can't work out from the website how big a part of the school life the ballet is, and if it differs for boys at all Feel free to PM me if you prefer. Many thanks

my daughter had never done ballet when she started at SY years ago and it didn't hold her back at all....she is now a proficient dancer in all aspects and is qualified to teach tap and Modern theatre dance...

I would say go for it as they take all types of dancers and like potential in children...It is a wonderful school and my dd loved all of her 6 years there..
Good luck xxx
I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.......

Thanks for the advice and the PMs. I'm going to go to the next open day and we'll take it from there.

Hi well done to all those who won scholarships last year. Has anybody else gone for it this time around? My dd went and has got through to the second stage and she is so excited any ideas how many are recalled for the second stage and then what happens if they pass the academic tests at this stage? Thanks very much. =D>
