Jazz associate scheme

Postby Loudance » Thu Nov 03, 2016 8:45 am

Hi, my DD currently part of a ballet associate scheme, however I would really like something similar for jazz. Or even something that incorporates different styles. She's lovely at ballet, but also had a really high standard of jazz. She's only 8, but wondered if anyone knows of anywhere London or Herts area that offers this. Feels like there are millions of ballet associate schemes but not for other styles. Would ideally like same setup as most of the ballet ones, where there is a audition as feel she needs to be a part of something that pushes her ability as oppose to age group. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Loudance

If your still looking there's a company running In Watford called Dance Workshops Watford. They run monthly workshops for intermediate/advanced dancers and they currently have students aged 8- 16 attend as its all done on ability rather than age. Styles change each month but so far has been Commercial, Lyrical, street and Musical theatre dance and next month they have a Jazz workshop. Definitely worth a look if not too far!
Ive attended workshops such a good standard and really worth while. Its all non commitment so you just pick the workshops you want to go to.

You could try Urdang Connect they run on Sundays. Our look up your local centre for advanced training as they focus on more than just ballet. London Studio Center have an associate scheme although might be a bit far from you.
