Free acting masterclasses in Sheffield and Leicester
Win a place on a free six-hour acting workshop with Ian Smith, director of the Television Workshop

Ian Smith, director of the Television Workshop, is offering 48 actors aged 16+ the chance to attend a free six-hour masterclass based around a typical Television Workshop acting workout – a mix of games, exercises, improvisation and script work. The skills taught by the Television Workshop are equally applicable to working on stage as they are on screen.
Two masterclasses will take place. The first at the Sheffield Crucible on the 18th September and the second at Leicester Curve on the 19 September. Each masterclass has space for 24 members (so 48 members in total).
You will be expected to learn a short piece of script, which will be provided in advance. On the day, you’ll explore strategies for getting to the heart of the scene. Actors will be encouraged to find the truth in their work, to authentically and imaginatively connect with character and situation.
