Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be

Post by bcnups »

Just want to mention the early morning (9.45 a.m.) Book of the week on Radio Four, which is a biography of songwriter Lionel Bart. He, who gave us the smash hit "Oliver", which seems to run and run. I've really enjoyed hearing about his life, and the other songs he's written.

I listened - I knew that he had signed away most of his rights to Oliver ! but did not know just what a mess he landed himself in, very interesting listening and Alistair Mcgowan did a very good job with the accents and voices !!.
He was a serious talent was Lionel, but got lost along the way, and was given some dreadful "advice"
