Miss Saigon

Post by Welsh Mum »

I have never seen this show before and went last night and was completely blown away by it!! Amazing theatre, superb performances from those playing Kim and the Engineer. Chris was OK but a bit blah. However, came out of the theatre with the songs in my head and would see it again in a heartbeat!!

Welsh Mum I was there Saturday night as well! :o What a missed opportunity to meet  I was lucky enough to get a brilliant value restricted view seat, C10 in Royal circle. Where were you?

Totally agree with your comments about it. Thought it was performed extremely well. From the story point of view I thought there was some padding in there just to create some showpiece musical theatre numbers (but I suspended belief and loved the pieces.) Also I would have had a heart attack if my dd was doing the strip joint number at the beginning

What a coincidence! We were in the middle of the front row stalls - excellent value at £20 each!! Almost felt I was in the nightclub ;)

The only bit of miscasting I thought was Ellen - she just seemed much older than Chris - weird choice.

Loved the theatricality of the show - it's one where you just have to see a professional production to get the full experience.

Yes I agree about Ellen. Loved her voice though.

Were those front row stalls dayseats? They sound good! I couldn't have queued on Saturday, but I wouldn't mind going again....

Yes there are 20 for each performance. WD queued for about 2 hours, worth it though for such ex ellent seats
