Frankenstein

Post by amanda »

Sorry for posting about an old production, but I saw the National Theatre Live, Encore showing of Frankenstein last night at the cinema. Benedict Cumberbatch played the Creature and I have never seen a performance like it. Astonishing. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
The physicality of the opening scene as the Creature discovered his newly created body was both enthralling and painful to watch. Cumberbatch gradually drew me in until I really cared for the Creature and felt his pain.
The cinema audience really seemed to forget that they were not at the theatre and burst into spontaneous applause at the end.
