Ah OK. She did the first slot so probably passed in the corridor! I think we've been told to be available from 9.30am but no specific time yet. In fact we haven't had venue details sent yet - but I'm guessing it's BSPA! She'll be tired as in the Saturday night Fiddler performance as up early for this! Cup of tea for sure :-)

Re: The Kids Voice
My son auditioned for the Kids Voice and got through the next stage. I wonder when we hear if they are to have recalls.
Re: The Kids Voice
We were told early October. They said everyone would hear one way or the other which is good.
Re: The Kids Voice
What sort of thing did your kids sing? My son only knows musical theatre songs so we are struggling.
Re: The Kids Voice
My daughter did a Jess Glynn song for her a capella and then used it again for her first backing track song. They also asked her to sing a musical theatre song as she had said that was her strength as she is only 9 and only just getting in to pop. They were happy with that. I trawled YouTube listening to loads of pop tracks trying to find something on the melodic side then looked up piano scores which show necessary vocal range. Pop is really tricky for little ones as lots is inappropriate and range often too low.

Re: The Kids Voice
My DD auditioned and is waiting to see if she got a callback. What is the 'researchers stage'? After stage B all the kids seemed to be going straight home. We did get a call from a researcher a couple of weeks ago. He said to call if we had any questions. But really at this stage there would be only one question!
Re: The Kids Voice
My daughter was sent on after stage B to speak with a team of researchers for the show. All about her, her family, school, early memories of singing, performing, other hobbies etc. Took about an hour longer and they took notes throughout. Only a handful seemed to do this at our auditions. We still have the same - you'll hear in October though.

Re: The Kids Voice
We had a great day,got through stage A and B round, loved her song choices and voice asked lots of questions in B,I think they thought my DD was possibly too MT as they brought it up several times.
No research for us so I think a no thank you on the way,she had fun though. Good luck to you all.

Re: The Kids Voice
Good to find this thread - DD went to this last weekend. She had a great day, and got through to the second stage and then sent for a chat with the researchers. I asked the person escorting us to this element what that meant, and he said it meant she'd said something interesting in the form that they wanted to know more about, rather than being on how well she'd done in Stage B. Stage B was interesting as they only wanted to hear one of her prepared songs, but then asked her to sing completely different stuff, not prepared. She had a fair go (though forgot the words!) I think they already had a lot of kids singing pop and wanted to see if she could fill a gap for a different style.
We got the same letter as others saying call backs in October, and they'll let you know if they want you. Be good to know if/when people hear.

Re: The Kids Voice
We also got a letter saying callbacks in October during half term and would hear either way 1st week in October (we are away half term anyway ) It was great going to the ITV studios and they were so good at dealing with all the kids. It was good to get an idea of the scale of what the whole operation would be like. My DD froze a bit during questioning so that is something to work on for the future.

Re: The Kids Voice
Really glad I found this thread as wanted to hear from others how they got on. My daughter had an audition on Saturday & as others mentioned will hear back in October. I found the whole process ok & was very proud of her as I couldn't have done it! The researcher (lady) Vocal coach (man) and another guy filming, she was asked a few questions & then sang Wings in acapella and Writing's on the wall with instrumental background. Good luck to you all :-)

Re: The Kids Voice
We were worrying as I thought they would of contacted us by now if they wanted to recall us to London. I thought they said we would of heard by the end of September. Still time I suppose. Anyone else had a recall to London yet?
Re: The Kids Voice
They made it very clear to us that no one would hear until October and when they had completed all first round auditions. There were still auditions yesterday I think? They also said everyone will get a response. Don't panic yet!! Next 2 weeks I would have thought....

Re: The Kids Voice
Saturday 24th was the last round of auditions, I know this because we wanted to change and we're told we couldn't as it was the last one. Notification of recalls until 1st week of October.
