Top Hat Stage School scholarships

Post by Sophalice »

Hi, I thought people in Hertfordshire might be interested in the below: :D

******
Top Hat Stage School (sister company to Top Talent Agency) will be holding its annual auditions on Sunday 17 November to offer children in Hertfordshire aged 6-17 years old with a passion for performance the opportunity to win a scholarship worth £900 to one of its six part-time stage schools.
The scholarships are the perfect opportunity for children, whatever their financial circumstances, to pursue their passion for performing. Previous students who have been awarded the scholarships have gone on to appear in West End musicals and blockbuster movies.
The auditions will be held on Sunday 17 November 2013 at the Hatfield Forum, part of the University of Hertfordshire. The auditions will take place in two workshop formats that will cover dance, drama and singing. Participants are not expected to be experts but will just require an enthusiasm for performing arts.
The workshops will be from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1pm-3pm and children will only need to attend one of these free workshops. Finalists will be judged by independent panel of judges and teachers.
There will be three scholarships available for each of the six schools – Hertford, Welwyn, Stevenage, St Albans and Potters Bar and the new school in Harpenden – from January 2014 where they will learn about dance, drama and singing from professionals for free.
Principal Warren Bacci says: “We started our scholarship programme to give children whose families can’t afford for them to attend a part-time stage school the opportunity to get involved in performing. And some of our previous students who have won scholarships have gone on to perform in West End shows such as The Lion King and Billy Elliott, and appear alongside A-list stars in big-budget films.” For more information, please go to www.tophatstageschool.co.uk/scholarships.htm

These come up quite frequently. Have a look at their website and look at local press for opportunities. Best of luck if you apply.
