When my DD recommended this to me I was sceptical. I don't enjoy fantasy novles and don't read them. However, she was so enthusiastic I gave it a go. At first I was not sure - the start was slow and I was on the verge of giving up. However, i carried on, and must say i loved the book! Its very exciting, with good characters, and once I got into it I couldn't put it down. I am now desperate for the second book (its trilogy) to come out in paperback next year.

I'm so glad i threw away my preconceived ideas about fantasy books. it shows you are never too old to try something new!
