Re: Self tapes

Hi Adrianna1312, you normally say it, usually name, age, height and who you are reading for and normally you get a full length shot of them then zoom in, sometimes they like you to stand sideways and show both sides as well as front. Always read the instructions very carefully as they all tend to be...

Re: Les Miserables TV series

Good point Thalias_Dad, I did read that Finding Neverland's transfer to the West End may be indefinitely postponed now because that is also a Weinstein co-production, tentacles everywhere

Assistance with Lamda monologue please

DS is going to be doing his Lamda grade 3 next month and the text he has chosen is the Black Beauty monologue, which is when Ginger sees Black Beauty for the first time in years. I am struggling with the staging of this as (I think I am right here) you are not supposed to do it as a 'horse', but doe...

Re: Casting again for Dr Dolittle

Ah sorry to hear that FredaBloggs, we auditioned first time around so am thinking it must have been for a lower age as DS is 9, I heard it was down to shortlist so was quite surprised to see this.

I did hear about Gavroche, but they are casting him as mixed race, so not quite as expected.

Re: How to do this self-tape?

Gosh tricky, personally, but I don't know if it is right, in fact probably not, I do hand over props or push or prod (gentle I promise!) because it is really hard to do a credible reaction to some things without the prop and I want to make sure DS shows the best he can do and that tends to be with t...

Re: The Voice Kids

Definitely do pop, we went and DS did a ballad (he has a very chorister type voice) and it was definitely the wrong choice, also as the others say have a few options in pop and a MT piece up your sleeve although I have a feeling they prefer the pop to the MT, I can't remember where I heard or read t...

Re: boys classical ballet costumes

I also have a boy doing ballet (but younger 9) and yes it is a nightmare, I joined a Facebook group: Ballet Tutus And Dancewear For Sale Second Hand Or New and I keep an eye on there for any boys dance outfits, even if they are too big or I don't need them, I tend to snap them up 'just in case' (pro...
