Hay fever

Hi , just wondering if anyone has any good hay fever tips for singers and performers? My DD never had hay fever before living in London and this year is worse than ever. I have been told acupuncture is good and she has had this for sinus problems in the past. But she doesn't know a reputable acupunc...

Re: Accommodation

Don't MST organise sharers days? I know many of the London drama schools do. My DD met people on the sharers day tat she ended up sharing with for the whole 3 years. I am surprised they do not help their students do this. On my Dds course a few went into halls (that was an option through Uni of Lond...

Re: Stage article - too many drama school places

In my DD's class at CSSD there were 9 girls and 8 boys. But the boys have had more success getting work as there is just a lots more stuff for them to go for. I think one of the main problems is highlighted in the comments on the original article - this is also happening at a time when there is a co...

Re: Stage article - too many drama school places

I agree - the market is contracting, but there are increasing numbers of talented, trained actors chasing too few jobs :( Very tough getting jobs after training ends. This is referred to in training but not the harsh realities spelt out [-X [-X I like the way she does not mince her words, and the co...

Re: London school of musical theatre

I know someone whose DD did this course (she used to post on here a few years ago). She loved it and has been in full time work on cruise ships since she finished.

Re: Gsa recall

My DDs recall was a few years ago but they asked her what else she had, so she gave them a few options from her file, and theycvhoise one of hers. Not sure if that helps, but it suggests that if they like you there may asdk for another. (She got offer of a place BTW)

Re: Audition Songs

You should really go to an audition with more than the required songs. You should have alternatives to sing if asked - especially for recalls. In my DDs GA recall she was asked to sing "Something else you've got". She offered about 4 more and they chose. If you are going into MT you should...

Re: Foundation courses

My DD graduated from Central last year and no one in her year had done a foundation course. I do think they useful in giving youngsters a taste of what vocational training is like. However, it is very expensive and could never have been an option for us.
