Re: Funding for the more expensive colleges
No, I don’t think you are missing anything. Some colleges will be out of financial reach to some people. However, most if not all of those colleges have bursaries and scholarships. Sometimes for the whole fees for one talented student. Laines was not on our radar because we earn too much to qualify ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
With so many great colleges going to the wall over the last few years due to funding issues I would be incredibly sceptical about a new college, regardless of the star power at the helm. It will take years for a proven track record to evolve and if funding isn’t established quickly, there will just ...

Re: 2022 entry how are we all doing as the first year draws to a close.
My DS just finished year 1 at GSA. He has had an absolutely fabulous year. Loved every minute of it. Only 24 in his year group on MT degree so lots of individual guidance. No showcases just assessments for them. Looking forward to year 2 and a lot of hard work.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
So it looks like dd will be taking a gap year. She got a no from GSA, her final BA audition this year. She is still waiting for a couple of interview dates for foundation, which were the outcomes of BA auditions. Neither of them are funded, and whatever the outcome she’s decided not to do a foundat...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
And we’re finally done! All auditions over and results in. Stupidly proud of DS who having got no degree offers last year has got degree offers from Royal Welsh, RCS, EDA, Mountview and postgrad at RAM. To anyone not getting the results they want this year know that taking a year out is definitely ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Hi, her recall is on Wednesday. Has your ds made a decision? Break a leg to her - hope she enjoys it and it goes really well. My son will accept GSA unless he magically gets a place at Central from the reserve list. He really likes GSA too and would be very happy to go there, but just wants to wait...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
On the issue of foundations, I had a look at graduating years profiles from the top places we were targeting to see how many had done foundations before the BA (they usually list on spotlight profile). So for instance, GSA MT 23 37 grads 1 Bird foundation 5 GSA foundation 1 Arts Ed foundation 1 Emi...

The holiday inn is very close - certainly walking distance. It’s right between Stag Hill campus and Manor Park.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Can someone shed some light on me please. Looking on the GSA website for info about the foundation course in acting, it says that student loans are available. Is this something new, as far as I was aware the foundation was not covered by student finance. There’s a link attached but it but it gives ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Good luck to everyone waiting to audition or waiting for news. Update from DS so far, for BA Acting: BOVTS : zoom done, no recall. Rose Bruford: sent tapes, no recall. Leeds Conservatoire: sent tapes, recalled but has withdrawn (see below) Guildhall: tapes sent weeks ago, still waiting for news (lo...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
So blooming happy - DD got offer of Degree at ArtsEd yesterday. Her absolute dream school. Happy doesn't begin to describe how we are all feeling. This was her third year of applying, so for those of you who may be in a similar situation to us, there is absolutely hope! Brilliant! Massive congratul...

I don’t know this college personally but it is always sad to hear of a training college in financial trouble - the industry has lost a few in the last year or so and I’m sure this won’t be the last. I feel so sorry for the students. I hope the link works - READ college https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl...

Re: Colleges and their different focuses
Let's be honest, most performers will not get roles on the West End stage whether 'leads' or 'ensembles'. There are just not that many roles/ jobs available if you count them up and so I believe it's really important that colleges prepare their students for many types of performing job that the ind...
