Re: Any other mums of ballet boys out there?

Hi CatKat, You must be down south to have an all boys class? Only option like that up here is Royal Ballet Associates and he's not keen to go down that route - he wants to be an actor he says not a dancer (much to his teacher's distress  0 In this town there is one sole male teacher and my DS i...

Any other mums of ballet boys out there?

Hi all, Just wondering if any of you are mums (or dads) of ballet boys? My DS is almost 12 and is quite good at ballet, tap modern etc but absolutely not into street dance, hip-hop etc. It makes him a bit different to all his friends at school - especially as he's not sport either (doesn't even like...

Re: Workshop Auditon

Hi, My DS is with Scream and had a workshop audition. There's a bit of improv, a bit of script reading, each person introduces themselves etc it's all very relaxed. He loved every minute and looks forward to the 6 monthly workshops which are part of his contract. Relax and have fun - the girls from ...

Re: Advice about on set tutoring

We've had a few experiences of tutoring on set. One was just for a few days (I think that if there are more than 3 consecutive days filming they are obliged to supply a tutor) the others were occcasionally joining in on shows which were mainly a child cast and had a tutor permanently on set for all ...

Re: Advice re DIY showreel please?

We are very lucky in that our DS has (just) enough TV stuff to make a showreel. He's done 3 Tv shows and a voice over so some bits of those cut together should hopefully work OK. Might post a link to it on here for critique when we're done! But you're asolutely right about sound paulears. When we do...

Re: What would you pay?

Interesting! Obviously it's cheating but in the long run they only fool themselves. When I was at Uni (I was a (very) mature student) loads of people asked to copy essays from top students - some let them, some didn't. I do wonder if these writers can guarantee a grade though? Not much point in havi...

Re: Tap Attack Manchester

Thanks all :) I had a long chat with Jo Scanlan (the lady who runs Tap Attack). She seemed lovely. She said it's usually from about grade 3 (which my DS has just taken) but is more about enthusiasm and potential. Luckily right side (the East) of Manchester for us - fingers crossed [-o<

Re: Could someone give me some information about tolls pleas

Ah thank you :) is it still okay to just give the money directly there anyway to the people on the road as you pass the booth? xx Definately no booths - it's not like a toll bridge thing at all. Big signs to warn you miles in advance of it starting though but if you want to drive into central Londo...

Re: First time round......very startled!!

One thing you mustn't do is make too much of a big deal of it! Yes of course it's exciting and a bit scary but you need to play it down a bit for your DD's sake. If it's a major feature film it'll be early stages still so just tell her to do her best, enjoy it and learn from the experience. That she...

Re-call for role already played. Is this normal?

Last year my DS was cast for a minor role in a very successful CBBC comedy/drama. To cut a long story short the production team were, to say the least, dis-organised and we ended up having all sorts of trouble. To the 2nd AD it looked like WE were causing the problems (i.e. not arriving for filming ...

Re: Best agency annual awards

Hi,

I am very new here but I would like to vote for Scream Management (Manchester) for Kids 8-16 and General Responsiveness - I've found them incredibly helpful.
