Showreel shelf life?
Some time ago, On It Artists failed to renew our Spotlight membership - we only found out some months later when I happened to ring Spotlight with an enquiry. It lost our showreel even though lovely Ellie at Spotlight tried her best with the tech team to retrieve it (it was one created by them inhou...

Re: RBAPA Agency
The more I hear about things like this, the more jittery I become about KidsCCP. Just a personal view.

Re: Checking credentials on KCCP jobs
I think kidsccp are very defensive indeed when you question their verification procedures. They shut down conversation that was happening on their own noticeboard and facebook page about it over the weekend. Or else they need to be a lot more up front about what this process is to parents, be cryst...

Re: Checking credentials on KCCP jobs
Hmm, not sure you can but (in my experience) if you raise the issue of child safety with KCCP they become very defensive and quite rude. I politely and quietly pointed out that their guarantee against access to details and images via Google was not working and we found our account closed when we wen...

Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
Really just a guess but the number of SY kids makes me wonder if it was Jo Hawes - isn't she a governor there or something?Ditzi wrote:Just curious to know who the cd was.

Love Never Dies
I've heard this may at last be returning to Blighty. I watched the 2010 Oz premiere again last night and I think it deserves a second shot at the West End, after all it does have an amazing pedigree. A great little role for any budding NAPM Gustavs out there too!

Re: School of rock musical
Jo Hawes will be casting for this and looking for kiddies nationally. So far no mention of the usual London-only rule.

Re: Not really comfortable about this casting. What to do?
I've turned castings down before because there was no way ds fitted the brief, and going to London would have been a huge waste of everyone's time and money. I once even got a phone call whilst in the middle of Tesco asking if DS would be willing to fly to an audition the next day in Germany (as you...

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
I cannot believe how many NAPMs have had /are having the same awful problems with this agent! Wow!   It should not be allowed to happen... in fact, how is it allowed? I'm guessing things would be very different if we had to pay them for their services (non-existent in this case...

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
Hello Netty, Thank you for your PM. Yep, it's the same agent! I can only guess that, in the same way her webpages are rarely updated, so her various administrative obligations (e.g. replying to Spotlight's renewal alerts) are just left to ride. I'm not just angry about the appalling treatment we (an...

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
Good news after all the upset. Ex-agent has indeed waived the notice period via a very polite email. Really pleased and thought I'd let you all know. Thanks for all your supportive comments.

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
Sounds awful. Looks like you're better off without them. I'd ignore them and assume if they're dumping you then they won't mind giving up their notice period. Find someone new ASAP. Big hugs xx Thanks CatKat, gosh, with all the upset I forgot all about the notice period! I'll keep quiet and hope fo...

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
That is a nasty and unprofessional way to behave !! I really feel for your DS, now he can move on to somewhere that behaves better, the least they could have done was inform you !!! {evil} xx Thank you Riverdance. We're already in talks with an agent who sounds wonderful - caring and realistic. I c...

Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
Just found out by chance that DS's Spotlight membership has been inactive since May as "his agent failed to renew in the Autumn". I asked his agent about it, only to receive an email saying his career "now needs a fresh pair of eyes so please begin looking for representation elsewhere...
