Re: SCREAM or smaller agency?

I think every agency, somewhere, has someone who could come up with something negative to say about them. Look how happy everyone seems to be with Top Talent but our experience with them was a complete nightmare. It's life I guess - you can please some of the people some of the time....

Which route?

OK fellow NAPMs, here's the question... ROUTE A - straightforward BTEC level 3 extended diploma in the Performing Arts (2 years full time) ROUTE B - as above PLUS a Trinity level 6 diploma (3 years full time) Hopeful destination - BA in Musical Theatre If the destination you dream of is requesting 3...

I can't thank you enough for all your advice. There is certainly a lot to think about but others' experiences and views all help towards an informed decision. Again, happy 2017 to you and your DCs x

Dance confusion - please help!

Hi everyone, Please may I dip into your wisdom yet again? My son has performed in professionals shows since he was 11 thanks to open auditions in the Midlands, for which we are most grateful. However, the world of performing is not one we really know and, as such, he has only come to official dance ...

Re: Laine Theatre Arts

Currently studying this minefield myself  Am I right in thinking that with the relevant diplomas in place, you can leave Laines after one year with a full BA(hons) in MT? Considering what we all know about the business (and what our youngsters don't heed! ](*,) ) is a degree in Performing Art...

Re: Ology Agency

We don't live in London and I know a lot of auditions need to be a certain distance from London. I am wondering if there are other similar musical theatre auditions etc away from london. If that makes sense! Keep an eye on professional theatres "local" to you as they will put out open aud...

Re: confusion between different boards

In terms of studying Musical Theatre later on, auditions will include ballet so that is important and tap is also a useful skill. A jazz section is also included in many auditions and certainly at DDs college is a subject taught on the MT course. This is not to say that your DS ought to do jazz if ...

Re: Top Talent

By daughters have been with Top Talent this past year and have had no end of castings. Unfortunately we can no longer commit to traveling to London for the castings as it just costs us too much- train fares from the north at the last minute are stupid money. They really are great. I'd have no hesit...

Re: confusion between different boards

How old is he? I don't know much about theatrecraft but from looking on the internet I get the impression that with idta modern is just jazz so they have theatrecraft as well which covers a larger range of styles. ISTD modern is modern theatre dance and then they have jazz as a sort of subsection f...

Re: confusion between different boards

SO confusing. What are NAPM's thoughts on IDTA Theatre Craft too please? DS came late to dance and wants to study what's best for Musical Theatre studies later on. Currently he's doing IDTA Tap and Theatre Craft at Grade 3 and just started ballet. 'Does that sound about right? We are neither affluen...

Re: Frankie Casting Call

With KM casting's recent open casting, I would imagine that they have seen the vast majority of available talent! I'm sure that anyone who was seen in Manchester or London auditions need not apply. Are they just using this to promote it in advance and then casting known actors? Or am I just cynical...

Mmm... the cynic in me is wondering whether the Manchester auds were just some kind of lip service or mop-up opportunity? REALLY hope I'm completely wrong.
