Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi. Could you help with a dilemma. MY DD has been offer a foundation place at Bird and a degree place at a non accredited college that has been around for about 10 years or so. Does she go for the secure easy option or is that place at Bird worth the risk when she would need to audition again next ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

I should have added she is just completing triple threat sixth form. She is a good dancer, but feels her acting and voice are her strongest features, particularly as she has a massive vocal range and a big high belt range. Hi Elle’smom,I think my daughter would have said similar things about her sk...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi Elle’smom,I think my daughter would have said similar things about her skills as your daughter has! Have you considered theMTA ? They run a brilliant 2 year vocational MT course with a max of 22 in each year group. It’s very intensive ( 40 hours a week, no ‘private study’) and at the end of every...

Re: Fully funded places at award winning college

Completely agree! Fantastic training with small numbers that mean that you are always seen. Seriously intensive with a public performance at the end of each 10 week term and taught by current performing professionals. It's also 50/50 stage /screen split adding to future employability skills .This ye...

Re: MTA college closing

It's devastating news. It is a fabulous college, such small numbers, lots of provision for positive mental health ( an industry leader) and one of the best provisions in the industry for preparation for professional life. No stupid waiting lists, audition decisions on the day, proper 100% agent repr...

Re: College student numbers

There are 28 Musical Theatre and Dance diploma graduates at Hammond this year. I'm not entirely sure about the degree course (which is more of an actor singer with some dance course) but I think there are roughly about 30 of them too. It's one of the reasons my dd chose to go there. My daughter is ...

Yes, would second Read. They are excellent, my daughter did a Foundation course in MT there last year.

Re: Has COVID changed your DC training/career plans?

The MTA have been in the studio full time since the start of term which has been both fabulous and quite incredible. It does help that they are a very small school, about 15 in one year and 18 in the other.

Re: Move It 2020 - Postponed

Really upsetting for all of those who have put so much effort in. DD has spent out on hotel, spray tan etc all of which are wasted, not to mention the opportunity to perform.Let's hope that it can be rescheduled .
It would be nice to have some good news ( for a change).

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I know there has been a post before on here about hotels near Arts Ed but can't seem to find it. Any recommendations? Also any info on how Arts Ed auditions have been? There is a small hotel opposite Artsed a little further up not sure how good it is. I think its called the Chiswick Court Hotel. Al...

Re: Read College

My daughter is there doing the MT Foundation course at the moment. It's fabulous! Small numbers, intimate, teachers very accessible. It's just what she needed to build her confidence, brush up on her dance skills and prepare her for auditions this term. It's full on training- think 8.30-18.00 5 days...

Re: Dancing - beginning at an older age (falling between the gaps)

My daughter was in a similar position but at the age of 18. She's been doing a MT Foundation Course at Reads in Reading and has been loving it! They stream their dancers and it's such a small college, the students get excellent personal attention. It's been excellent preparation for her as she goes ...
