Re: Dilema Re Offers, Any Advice?

Hello NAPMs I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your advice and opinions on this, my DS is also looking at options (currently year 10) who is also torn between MT and Acting BTecs as his main love is acting, but he also loves his music and dance (which he could keep up outside). What is clear...

Re: School work experience year 10 - any ideas?

Little Mum - is it Flix by any chance? DS works there quite often - lovely people! That was an excellent guess, fartoomuchtodo! Yes, he is really happy. Not too far from home either and his Auntie now rents an office in the same building and says they are really friendly and lots of young people. H...

Re: School work experience year 10 - any ideas?

Hi NAPMs I just thought I would let you know that my DS has very happily accepted a place with a post production company at Media City, he may be both an expert at making tea and running errands by the end of the week, but a great place to have work experience - all your help was invaluable, as alwa...

Re: School work experience year 10 - any ideas?

Thanks for the extra tips - will add the RSC to the list (even though it would be very difficult!) and also think about any local teachers / schools thanks - your young people sound amazing by the way, what great experiences!

Re: School work experience year 10 - any ideas?

Gosh I had absolutely no idea about the potential problems in theatre, although of course I knew about licensing for performance. Thank you so much for your advice and suggestions. I'd come across the 'creative learning' side of the ATG theatres and they were on the list of contacts so thanks Niamh ...

School work experience year 10 - any ideas?

Hello NAPMs I know it should be my DS writing this, not me but he is only just 15 and hasn't joined the site! We've just had a school meeting (based in Stockport) about his work experience week in July this year and he would love to work in theatre /arts or entertainment industry in some way. He's p...

RNCM Young Company - On the Town auditions

Hello NAPMs I can't believe I didn't think to post this beforehand. My DS goes to RNCM young company (musical theatre) group on Wednesdays - fantastic group of people, mentors, superb musicians who provide the music and some singing coaching too. I love him going there because they have very high st...

Re: Scream management audition

Hi Augustray Not sure how old your DS is, but I have 2 DSs who are with scream and although it must be said, most of their work has come through NAPM / general / open castings, I think it was certainly a good move to get an agent at first, at least just to get to grips with how the industry works. N...

Re: Any other mums of ballet boys out there?

Thank you all so much - what great feedback and ideas! I'd not even heard of / found centre-pointe in my searches, so thanks for that and the other tips too. Yes, I know exactly what you mean about getting taken up with time on dancing - and he's really into his acting and is going into year 10 too,...

Re: Any other mums of ballet boys out there?

Hello NAPMs, wonder if I could ask your advice on behalf of my DS? He's 14 but very small for his age (4'10") but after the chance of a lifetime with Matthew Bourne's Lord of the Flies, really wants to take it further (he'd not danced before). He's now going to the Lowry in Salford for regular ...

Re: Fundraising ideas for NAPM

I've only just seen this - but am happy to support whichever idea is selected in the end. My personal preference or suggestion would be for an initial free period (with optional voluntary donation) of, say, a month or two, followed by a low subscription rate of maybe £5 - but also advertising revenu...
