Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Dd applied very late last year, she submitted just before deadlines and didn’t get any degree offers. She decided not to do a foundation but to take a gap year instead. She will be auditioning again this year (for degree and foundation acting courses only). She is planning to apply and submit her t...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

There is one not too far, that is a possibility. There’s also a local theatre group she would like to get involved with if the opportunity arises. And she’s hoping to get more involved with NYT over the coming months, I seem to remember last year they had a few things on starting from September whic...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Best of luck to Lawn and ProseccoPlease's DC! Have a wonderful time. @Ditzi, I'm sorry to hear your DD is feeling a bit left behind. Are there any NYT things she could get involved in? Do you live somewhere she could get some work at a local theatre? I'm sure she will soon feel busy enough with mon...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Proseccoplease and lawn, thank you - and all the best to your dc’s and everyone else starting! Let us know how they get on! I am a strong believer that everything falls into place eventually, even if earlier for some than others. September soon came around, and one thing dd is sure of is that if sh...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

September is here, so I just wanted to pop on here to say a huge GOOD LUCK to the DC who are starting their training this month after the vicissitudes of the last year of auditioning, and to those who didn't get what they wanted in 2023, much courage and determination for trying again. All the kids...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Does anyone have any guidance of typical rent / accommodation costs (shared house / flat) in and around Chiswick. DD has been looking and it seems £1000 pcm is common. Am I dreaming in hoping for circa £700-£800. Having to balance this cost with ArtsEd top up fees. Many thanks. :) Have you looked a...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

DD is so torn over a year out and reapplying or accepting Uni of Chichester MT music, she just doesn’t know what to do. I don’t feel I’m much use! She can defer a year, but then couldn’t apply to any colleges through UCAS unless she rejects Chichester. Chichester has good ratings, but not necessari...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

So it looks like dd will be taking a gap year. She got a no from GSA, her final BA audition this year. She is still waiting for a couple of interview dates for foundation, which were the outcomes of BA auditions. Neither of them are funded, and whatever the outcome she’s decided not to do a foundat...
