Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

I agree with amo185, DS has really narrowed his choices, just 4 and they are unfortunately 4 of the hardest to get into but he says he will just keep trying until he gets in. (I am very aware we are lucky enough to be able to financially allow him to try for those courses). He knows what a saturated...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Well done Harry2003! DS has yet to even finish his personal statement  Off to Leeds tomorrow for the Federation of Drama Schools Fair so hoping for some good advice re.auditions/courses! It’s all getting real!

Re: How soon do you hear back post auditions - 6th form

We did indeed loose our deposit for exactly that reason. Accepted an offer as other audition wasn’t until later and DS was still unsure where he would go then had to let first offer go.

Re: How soon do you hear back post auditions - 6th form

As Harry2003 says EDA give out as they go-I think we heard within around 10 days. Arts Ed we heard a couple of days after but places were still being given I think up to a month later.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Can’t believe it’s time for me to join this thread! Seems like yesterday I was looking at children’s audition threads. DS has his mind firmly set on a selection so can already foresee tears and disappointment! Good luck all-here we go…

Re: 16 -18/19 training Performing arts/ drama

Hi wimdancer, my DS is at Arts Ed sixth form doing Alevels and MT Btec but before this we were also looking for something to supplement his training at weekends. He did MXM (Michael Xavier Masterclass) and it was a real step up from his usual weekend training. It's run by Michael Xavier who is so su...

Re: 16 -18/19 training Performing arts/ drama

Hi-you’ll find lots of good advice about schools/collages at 16-18 on here-a lot depends on wether you want purely vocational at 16 or if she wants to keep doing A-levels alongside her vocational studies. My DS is blissfully happy at Arts Ed sixth form-happy to chat about it and have heard very good...

Re: Performing arts 6th form colleges

Hi, my DS is currently in lower 6th at Arts Ed, doing the Level 3 extended diploma MT Btec and A Levels in Drama and History so will have the UCAS equivalent of 5 A Levels. He also had a place at Emil Dale which looks amazing and he loved it but he wants to keep his academic options open and wasn't ...

Re: Does being a boy give you a bigger advantage of getting into a 3 year musical theatre/dance courses?

Basically I totally echo what Harry 2003 says-my view on this one is that yes you statistically have more chance of getting in if you are a boy BUT the boys that are still pursuing MT at 18 (I’m prepared to get shot down here and it really is only my opinion) are 100% committed and dedicated to gett...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

DS has just been offered a place at Arts Ed for sixth form-does anyone have any advice/experience of taking 2 Alevels and BTEC there? Just wondering what it’s like trying to keep up the workload! DS is down to do MT drama and history Alevels and would also need to be with a host family. Any advice g...

Re: Arts Ed Audition dates

DS applied for sixth form and it was a good few weeks before I heard back so don't panic but worth chasing.
