Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
So DD had her BA audition today at PPA. She had a lovely time but knows she hasn’t got on the degree course as they told her at the interview that she is good enough to get on the three year course but needs to work out her USP and that she would benefit from a foundation course - to be clear they ...

Re: hearing from Bird
Bird are notorious for being really late offering funding. If you look back over threads from 2016 and 2017 people have still been waiting right through the summer. Best of luck!

Re: Straight Acting 2018 - how to choose and manage finances?
Hello I have no idea what Fourth Monkey is, but gut feelings count for a lot. Also, it's a fact that straight acting courses do like older students. I would wait till all auditions are done and see if he got any offers from anywhere that he loved and if not, do this Fourth Monkey course and re-evalu...

Re: Newbie: audition for Ghostwriters
It;s worth doing a self tape, just for the practice (for you and him! ), as self taping can be a bit of a faff and the more you do, the easier it gets. Do it and then just forget about it, 9 times out of 10 you hear nothing back from a self tape, and if this is an international search even les...

Re: BA / Foundation MT courses Sept 18
I think the best we can hope for is an audition on a weekday (not likely as all the others are saturdays). Saturday 7th april would be good - we are already in London that weekend anyway, but can't really tell the Uni that. WE could do easter weekend at a push, but any term time ones are pretty muc...

Fingers crossed you won't have to go through it again! People with non-performing kids have no idea how stressful it is!!Robin64 wrote:...and if we have to go through all this again I am following your tips!

Re: Best time to audition for full time training
I would second that! Start researching as early as possible. The summer before auditioning I did a spreadsheet with all of the possible colleges, pros and con, student outcomes, showcases, cost, you name it and then we went through them one by one and she gave them a mark out of ten. We then picked ...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
I've a couple of questions regarding recalls and offers. Urdang have put in email that the interview will be about your academic background. Is that information not on your form or do they want to know more in-depth questions regarding what you are doing now (my daughter is doing a Btec). Also, in ...

Re: Should you say you have an offer at interviews?
Injury, bad luck to name a couple. A degree is a degree and could lead to a pgce or another change in direction. We all go our different course and have our own finances, educational aspirations etc. I am under no illusions that any stage career is guaranteed after this process much as it would be ...

Re: Should you say you have an offer at interviews?
This has been bugging me as my DD had the opportunity to mention she had been offered places and scholarship at her interview but didn't. Do you think it should be mentioned? I would also say that although we prepared for interviews they were a complete shock to her and she feels that 2 recent ones...

Re: Should you say you have an offer at interviews?
I would say that if asked, yes. In some situations this leads to offers being made or scholarships being offered on the spot!
