Re: Audition Tips?!

Yes I would agree that the requirements are different for each school, and it's important to check before the audition. As a general rule, the more 'dance' ones i.e. urdang, bird, performers, Laine etc want well groomed and full make up, and will expect you to change between disciplines. The more Ac...

Re: Mountview MT audition

My dd did a regional one last week. She wore leotard with footless tights and shorts, with a dress over the top she could easily take off and put back on. The email says dancewear for the first part, then you can change but has to be quick, so shirt or t shirt over would be ok? It was some corner wo...

Re: September 2015

Great news Katymac! \:D/ and Alisonrose, the LCM course is classed as MT Actor/Singer rather than MT triple threat. There are plenty of people in musical theatre that come from straight acting courses. Central also has very little dance. At Made in Dagenham and Calamity Jane recently, I noticed many...

Re: September 2015

Hi Alisonrose. My DD has been offered the 3yr MT degree at LCM, and knows someone already on the course. Their view is that it is a good course and they really enjoy it, but because there is no real dance, it is something that has to be pursued in their own time (and make the effort to go and do it)...

Re: Value of degree in the real world?

I'm wondering about the whole degree/diploma dilemma too. DD had the option to take a traditional degree as her A levels were Maths, Geography and Economics along with a single BTEC in performing arts. As I'd insisted on the A level route, I let her make the next decision on where and what she wante...

Re: September 2015

Sorry it's a no Katymac. Hope she's ok to put it behind her and move on to the next one. DD has done 9 so far with 1 to go! 3 offers, 4 nos and 2 waiting to hear. The nos do seem to get easier as she goes through them, but fingers crossed for an offer soon. :) :)

Re: Chichester MT Degree - monologue

We chose one from a musical, but I would just interpret it as something quite upbeat rather than too deep and dramatic. They didn't actually hear them at my dds audition, much to her annoyance, and just did a workshop, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Re: September 2015

ooh lots more offers coming in! Well done to everyone so far with great results. After thinking DD would get nothing this year, she has also now had an offer from Italia Conti for the 3 yr performing arts diploma! She's now completely torn between that and the degree course at LCM! Any advice welcom...

Re: New DaDA icome scales for 15-16

Thanks Carriecrafts. I haven't actually checked yet as she still has auditions to go, but I'm thinking the degree route will probably be our best bet anyway. :D
