Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

DD is so torn over a year out and reapplying or accepting Uni of Chichester MT music, she just doesn’t know what to do. I don’t feel I’m much use! She can defer a year, but then couldn’t apply to any colleges through UCAS unless she rejects Chichester. Chichester has good ratings, but not necessari...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Congratulation on your DD's offers. What about creating a list with pros and cons. Someone further up put how many students to a year in Urdang how many does Emil take? Does a larger/smaller year appeal more? Was it Urdang who used to do the different pathways after yr1, do they still, does your DD ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Wilkes Vs London Studio Center Jazz pathway?? DD was sure it would be Wilkes. But loved audition at LSC. She is struggling to decide between both offers. 2 fantastic offers, she knows she will love which ever she decides. Any advice? Or thoughts about what to include on pros and cons comparison? Ar...

Is Mountview still offerring Dadas for 2023 intake?

Just curiosity really. I just googled Dadas as I was going to reply to someone about them and found they are not on this list https://www.gov.uk/dance-drama-awards DaDA schools for 2023 to 2024 The following schools offer DaDAs for the 2023 to 2024 academic year: Arts.Ed, London Bird College - Dance...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

After a few years of watching these threads and feeling the stress and joy of your children’s journeys it is nearly time to go through it! My ds will audition for 2024 but is watching his friends go through it this year- starting to panic and making lists of where to apply etc. We are going to do a...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

We are in a different position this year. Dd has been lucky to secure several offers including Urdang (2nd year of auditioning) & we are now looking at pros & cons of each college before making a final decision. Lots of factors to take into consideration including how many students in year ...

You are aware that anyone can read these boards aren't you? It's an open forum not just limited to those who've joined up. Only members can post and send/receive messages and look through poster's profiles for posting history I believe, but the actual message boards anyone can read (and copy and pas...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Hi, joining you all on the 3rd and possibly final time and it's nice to see some other straight acting parents too. The straight acting courses are difficult to get into at 18 but not impossible. It's not just they prefer the life experience and more mature thinking but there's also less spaces. I'm...

£32K to train or £31k if you didn't need to pay in termly installments. How many of us can afford that in tuition fees alone and for those that can, they have probably spent the money at an earlier stage such as at a PA related private secondary school or sixth form, so by time child is 16/18 they'...

Re: MTA confirms it's closing

Sad to hear that yet another reputable drama school has bit the dust. I did think it odd when I heard that they were still recruiting for students this summer. Funding IMO was always an issue there as how many can afford fees + rent = living costs for 2 years. If you've got ways of making it work eg...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Do you mean with a Diploma and Masters at 20 that it will work in her favour or not? She did do a showcase and they had agents there but apparently only about 20% of the whole year group got offers. She is still with the agent linked to the school but it's not ideal Yes, I'm wondering how this woul...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Yes maybe, however, I am being told by my DD that she is looking at their graduates from the last 8 years and is not fully impressed with the work most have done up to now so I guess that's why she's contemplating possibly declining the offer. She's not looking just to fill the time but actually ge...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Thanks for your response. Yes she has already done a 3 year Diploma in Musical Theatre at a London Drama School. She wants to pursue acting though. Their 1 year diploma is changing into a Masters in Professional Acting so it gives an ideal qualification and we would get funding. She would not have ...
