Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

When DD auditioned last year they started in mid Jan and apart from 2 which were automatic nos (1 that she'd considered a safe choice, the other she'd been offered foundation at the year before but turned down in favour of going somewhere else - so both these came as a shock) she got thru to 2nd/3rd...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Does anyone know if Performers ever offer a place without asking for an interview? They say getting an interview has no bearing on offers but everyone my DD knows had an interview before offered a place on the day and her friend was offered a place today after an interview. My DD was not offered an...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Mine comes home from RB in a week's time. Is enjoying it but OMG the hours are insane, had a Sat morning class this term in addition to being in 5 days a week and because it's nearly end of term show time have been in until 8-9pm at night with homework on top. All this has impacted on ability to fin...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

By top up do you mean a masters after a degree elsewhere? Again I believe you would need to audition and be offered a place. Unless you mean something else? Hi Lawn, yes I’m not totally sure, I think a masters could be included in this and yes, you’d have to re audition. I’ve heard of a few situati...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

It's def worth making a spreadsheet of all the colleges that your DC is interested in and working out the funding. 2 years ago PPA charged a £1250 p.a top -up paid direct to the college. think that was in one chunk but not sure, so each can be different as already said. I'm aware of someone who got ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

I’ve never managed to get my head round why the student is hit at both sides with the higher fees but then getting the lower loan amount. Even with the full loan amount it’s out of most people’s budget. When we originally looked at all the different courses I’d said to ds no point applying to mount...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Hi, my DD has just attended the Italia Conti audition preparation course, which she enjoyed and found useful, but I think it was a bit of a reality check for her! She had thought her singing was her strength as she has got a strong belt but although she received overall good feedback on her singing...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Well here I am again! I thought I’d finished and decisions had been made. DD auditioned last year after doing a BTech at a performing arts 6th form, she was late in applying and I don’t think that helped. She got two offers ICT Brighton, which she didn’t like so much and Chichester. She had gone fo...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

I believe Bird is also a large intake year though their reserve list is legendary. If you're on it it it could be as late as August or I've even known early Sept before finding out. Might mean scrolling back a few pages looking for it, but someone once did a thread about how many available spaces at...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Lawn, I can’t recall…. I know your daughter is at RV, but can’t recall if that is degree or foundation? Are you over the auditions phase for now? Your daughter’s tenacity is oft cited in this house! She's now on Degree, having done 2 foundations first. From 6th form she got onto a private foundatio...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

For the 3 years my DD auditioned, she applied early first year due to her sixth form teacher going on maternity and wanting to do a handover. I wouldn't say her year group was that successful. The 2nd year DD was on a private foundation and applied late as per their course's advice, that was slightl...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Glad you found out and that they're updating their website to make it clearer. I am incredibly thankful to not have to be joining this thread this year, I waited patiently for our turn and then was on it for 3 years! Daughter is now on degree at Rose Bruford. Good luck to all of you still on this j...
