Re: Advice needed about agency applications from a complete novice!

I'm sure others with more experience will chip in shortly, but all the MT jobs DS has ever got have been open audition rather than agency, so having an agent for MT is not a necessity. Having said that I know he has been put forward by his agent for some MT things and it may make you more likely to ...

Re: Should I change DS training and agent or not?

It sounds like he has done fantastically well in the past - congratulations to him =D> My DS (10) has never come close in west end MT despite performing professionally locally and overseas, so your son must have that happy combination of both excellent ability and the look that was wanted. The MT he...

Re: Do agencies all require upfront payment?

No they don't. We have been with three different reputable agencies, none of which have charged any up front fees. The only fee we pay is for spotlight, and headshots, which we can get from our own choice of photographer. I think some people have posted before about some agencies with admin fees whi...

Re: Mandy, backstage....etc.

Mandy and Starnow are legit. Mandy only has paid castings. Starnow also has unpaid work which can include student films or Time for Prints photo shoots. As I mentioned above, some element of caution is advisable when deciding whether to apply. If the individual listing doesn't feel very professional...

Re: Mandy, backstage....etc.

We have used Mandy, backstage, casting network and starnow over the years. DS is only 10 though, so others may have suggestions for 16+. Have you looked at extras work too as she is 16, that might be an option? We have had paid work through Mandy and Starnow, some low key local stuff and some much b...

Re: At wit's end

Yes 100% to what RoseTowers says about being kind to yourself. And maybe take some time to reflect on what you Have achieved, rather than focusing on what hasn't gone the way you wanted. I'm not a huge believer in the 'If you believe in yourself your dreams will come true' philosphy. I think sometim...

Re: New members - please check your messages

Hi There aren't automatic welcome messages any more, although I seem to be doing the unofficial welcoming at present. Welcome! Do read through past threads and make yourself at home, and use the search facility if there are things you are particularly interested in. If you cant already find an answe...

Re: New members - please check your messages

Hi, and welcome! Welcome messages no longer go out automatically, so here is my non-automatic welcome, and I'm sure many others more experienced than me will welcome you too. Best suggestion first of all is to have a really good read through the parts of the forum which are of direct interest to you...

Re: The Waiting Room - a place to go 'aaaaagggghh'

Yes.

He has a place for music on the 4 year degree course at guildhall starting in September.

It was his only application as it was the only course doing bis specialism, so it was very stressful.

But yayyyyy!

Thanks for waiting with me! X
