Another thing, does any one know whether GSA dislike auditionees to do a song from the recall list for their preliminary audition...

Katymac wrote:DD sang an Andrew Lloyd Webber & a Disney last year against everyone's advise - but it worked well for her voice

There are lots of lists on line suggesting songs to sing or not to sing
Kaymac just out of curiously, which ALW and Disney songs did your DD sing for her auditions?

Re: Auditioning for 2016

That's interesting to know, thanks Katymac! Other who have done the Millennium audition, when they stipulate a short song and monolouge, exactly how short do you think they mean? Was anyone cut off during their performances, or did your DC's take cut down versions for this particular audition?

Re: Auditioning for 2016

We got confirmation of DDs audition today and were surprised to see they have a contemporary class as well as a ballet and jazz - almost 3 hours, definitely one of the longer dance auditions. They also mention pointe work which I haven't seen in an MT audition before, doe...

Re: HE Dance ... Uni or Conservatoire ... which course ?

Both Bird and Urdang offer diploma courses which require less academic content than a typical degree course which may suit what you're looking for! Although both courses are titled 'Musical Theatre and dance' they are weighted a little more toward dance, and at Urdang they specifically offer a dance...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

For applications to schools such as Mountview and Arts Ed who ask for a a personal statement of around 1000 words would people recommend making them specific to the certain school? For example 'I wish to attend this school as my specialism is in ballet and this dance program offers......' or would y...
