Re: Top secret - Urdang fees
When DS was auditioning they said the BA numbers were set by the university each year and that they were expecting around 60 places. If you apply for the degree they offer a confirmed diploma place first (if successful) and then you are invited to a second audition for the degree. They said they wou...

Re: not an empty nest...but need ideas on how to manage.
I know how you all feel. DS2 started at Mountview on Monday and DS1 left for a job in Cambridge the week before so we are suddenly down to one 16 year old. They seem so far away but I am trying not to contact them too much while they settle in. The house is so quiet now, especially as I have just fi...

Re: New thread for actual destinations...for Sept 2015
Oh no Katymac, big hugs to her!!! DS had offers from Urdang, Bird, LSC, Laine and Mountview. All except Laine were degree courses so he can get a loan. He also had a couple of top-up scholarships funding the difference. He has decided on Mountview and has started this week. Good luck to everyone els...

Re: Auditioning for 2016
Also London Studio Centre for younger DD and Mountview for both as they do both Acting and Musical Theatre degrees there. I think GSA and Central offer both as well. Good luck to your DDs. We went through it last year. DS is going to Mountview. He was very impressed at the auditions. Dance is his st...

Re: September 2015
Pearl, please can you let me know where you manage to get the New Yorkers from. My niece is starting Urdang in September too. They don't live near London so have been trying to order online but they seem to be sold out everywhere. They need a 5 in both the black and the tan I think. Thanks.

Re: Chester House Student Accomodation - Sept 2015 intake
Hello, my DS also has a room booked at Chester House. He will be 18 in August and is going to Mountview in September. He will be moving in on the 13th September. He is planning on taking his bike so he can cycle to Mountview across Alexandra Park. It is lovely that he will be meeting so many of your...

Re: September 2015
DS had a call from Mountview today offering him a place off the reserve list. He is over the moon as it was one of his favourites! I thought I would share it to give others hope that reserve lists are starting to move.

Re: September 2015
It all seems to take so long doesn't it? However, if you are thinking of the Guy Chester Centre for accommodation for LSC, they will let you hold a place for a couple of weeks. There is a separate thread about it on here too. My DS has a provisional room there for either Urdang or Mountview (awaitin...

Re: September 2015
Oh, I've just read the letter more closely and at the bottom it says 'This offer is intended for the full three years of the programme; however is reviewed annually and the scholarship amounts will vary in accordance with the annual tuition fee' so it looks as though it will last the three years. Mo...

Re: September 2015
Hi MoviemiteMum, I'm sorry, I don't know anything about the fund or why it was awarded. It doesn't mention any criteria. The letter just says 'I am pleased to confirm you have been awarded a scholarship from the Widening Participation Fund, in respect of tuition fees up to the value of £7,500 for th...

Re: September 2015
He didn't apply for that Jasmine2 as we didn't know there was funding available apart from the student tuition and maintenance loan. He was offered the place after the first audition (he was lucky and didn't have to attend the recall) and then the funding just came out of the blue yesterday!

Re: Dance Dilema
For the ones my DS applied for he could specify degree or diploma, but I think they will then sometimes offer foundation if they think you are not quite ready. Even though he applied for degrees though, at Urdang they offer diploma first and then do a recall for the degree course. He applied to Arts...
