Re: Expectations from Agencies
I'd say, on our experience anyway, to not expect any feedback. Dd has been booked at castings we thought were definite no's and then not got past recalls for what we thought went really well. Best ever was a phone call out of the blue to say booked for a campaign on just a photo - no casting, no aud...

Definitely worth a shot - we only tried SY. Lots of other places, Redroofs would be our choice if money had been no worry when she was 11 - whatever will be will be - Good Luck!

Re: Full time training 11-16... Italia Conti, Sylvia Young
My daughter attends a state secondary school - we moved when she was 2, so that she could attend this very highly rated state school. We took on a massive mortgage to do this. Then we found out she is passionate about singing, acting and dancing. In that order ha! She really wanted to go to SY after...

Re: Fidgeting!
So young, and so what you would normally expect I think? I do remember, at a 2 day workshop, Jo Hawes talking about nerves and how to use this natural feeling positively in performance. Her 2 day workshop was great, for parents too. Jo held a session telling parents about the casting process, was ve...

Re: Doctor's letter
If you have time you could always wait in the surgery and not budge ! I have used this ploy to avoid a fee - just typed my own letter with basic, 'E' enjoys general good health and does not have any restrictions that prevent her from participating in the role requiring authorisation of her general ...

Re: The Kids Voice
E is released from The Kids Voice too - though it is a bit of consolation for us to see,and hear, how absolutely amazing some of the other children, who didn't get through, are. We were treated very well throughout the process - had a lovely researcher too - this will be interesting to watch - well ...

Re: Harry Potter cursed child
Saw this last week - cannot recommend more highly! It is not like any Play we have ever seen before... well worth trying to get in on the 40 tickets release on Fridays! Christina Fray has a lovely part so bravo to her - the main adult actors, playing down as children, were very believable too.....th...

Re: Lisps
My Dd had a slight lisp - less noticeable through singing. Chips were pronounced as Ships! Funnily enough my Mum and I were recently saying how it has now disappeared, and we didn't really notice when! Dd is now 12 - had this up until age 10 I would say....never held her back so good luck to your Dd...

Re: Over 20+ Playing 14-15 Year Olds
A CD was commenting on this at a workshop my daughter attended last year - interestingly, she said that although it may be thought that as the older person had more training, looks just as young and could easily pass for the part - her opinion was that they would not have the same 'thought processes...

Re: Workshops With Casting Directors
We are thanks Jomist! :D My now 11 year old is 5 feet so ditto! Was such a good 3 days and reasonably priced too - considering the stage school workshop prices. So wish that there was an NAPM conference where we could all get to meet, have guest speakers (CD's) and performances etc.... :D Sure that ...

Re: Workshops With Casting Directors
Hey Jomist! - was the 3 day course in Marlow last Feb? If so - E and I were there too. E came home on first day and said children there included those already cast in Matilda/Billy/Lion King. Think a few NAPM's there? We went for the experience... hopefully the feedback we received was genuine and n...
