Re: Advice on publicity for local productions
Some of the 'big' supermarkets have notice boards or stands for flyers specifically for local events, as do pubs (our local always has posters in the foyer for local events ).

Re: Sound of Music Tour
wow! two DDs in SOM that's fabulous, well done and hope they're having a great time. Wonderful that they are together, that will be good for them when they are away- but probably very quiet for you at home!

Re: feature film in Bristol...and not heard
We decided not to go as it is a 7 hour round trip and DD has three other films lined up over the next few months - don't want to seem greedy.

Re: Licensing?
It comes under Child Welfare, so if you telephone your local council office and ask for Child Welfare they should be able to tell you who to address it too>

Re: STARNOW
I second that. As you pay for 6 months at a time I would wait until there is something that really grabs you or you could be wasting a few months subscripton. Regarding the agency aspect, castings that appear on Starnow do not usually make it to agents as they are often no pay or expences only, but ...

Re: feature film in Bristol...and not heard
Thank you for that information, do you know what the older 'Alice' looks like? I don't want to travel all that way for an auditon if the resemblance is nothing like (been there, done that).

feature film in Bristol...and not heard
Hi everyone, my dd has received a casting call for a part in a feature film in Bristol called '...and not heard' through Mandy, but I can't remember what it is about or the character description. I've looked on Mandy but it isn't on there anymore, does anyone have any info on it please.

Re: Getting Time Of School For Sport
The licencing forms are for children to participate in PAID sport, perfomances or modelling, so if at this stage it is not professional ie N isn't getting paid then a letter to head should suffice.

Re: which agency in midlands??
DD has has auditions in London, Birmingham and Manchester through Chilli Kids but I know they have had castings in Bristol and Cardiff to name just a few others - you can tell them how far you are willing to travel to an audition.

Re: which agency in midlands??
We use chilli kids and they are not exclusive. They text or e-mail through castings and then we reply asking for DD to be put forward for the ones we are interested in. I find this very useful because I can check the diary before she is submitted as all the details of audition dates/times/venues and...

Re: Student Films
My DD has done several short student films and we have found eveyone to be very professional. On some of them a tutor has been there too. The final film is equivalent to a dissertation so they take it very seriously. My only concern sometimes was the food they provided - much coke and crisps! So I w...

Re: Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy
Hi everyone, thanks for your good wishes, we got an e-mail to say the director has decided to 'go in a different direction'! :( don't know what that exactly means except that dd's no longer in the running, never mind. The CD seemed to be gushing about dd so hopefully they'll bear her in mind if some...
