Re: changing track at 17 (Y13/repeating Y12) options? Cambs area

Thanks all - had been looking at Arts 1 from granny’s, hadn’t considered straight from home! Private lesson top up is the suggestion of the institution in addition to the BTEC training. Both Bodyworks (great support, good rep, less ucas points) and Stageworks st Neots (Live with gran, cheaper cours...

Re: Scholarship audition not submitted - what do you do?

Firstly, huge congratulations on the offer of a place. I would definitely query the fact that the email clearly said 'scholarship' audition. Even take a copy of the email and send it back to them...explain that it would be a real financial hardship but that her daughter really wants to go to the sch...

Re: Stageworks and Bodyworks post-16 opinion wanted

Jasmine2 had a DD at Bodyworks (graduated now) and would be a good person to give you the low-down. Lesser known, but I definitely wouldn’t say a lesser standard - I personally think it gets overlooked by many people who have their eyes set on London. We were really impressed when we looked around....

Have you considered Bodywork Cambridge or Emil Dale in Hitchin, both triple threat with very good results..small classes too. :D

Has anyone had to get a medical for a working visa? If so where did you go that was not too expensive? Some seem to charge an extortionate amount!! Need to get it sorted ASAP..thank you in advance

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

My dd loved the EDA audition process. They did cardio followed by dance first, then singing then monologue - all in front of different people. The singing and monologue were filmed. No drama workshop though. They were shown round and had plenty of time to ask questions. DD was recalled and had an i...

Re: Brit school RES/APPEAL

Wow well done to your dd on being head girl...I certainly do not think Bodyworks is one of the lesser colleges at all.. It is right up there with the top places...in fact as a smaller college, they are not one of a number, but indvidual. My dd loved it there x Neither do I jasmine2 - they go for qu...

Re: Brit school RES/APPEAL

I'm sorry lotsolaffs - it me that's being incredibly touchy ! My DD turned down what are known as 'top colleges' to go to Bodyworks and the comments we had, privately and quite publicly would make your hair curl - why was she turning down a top college to go to a lesser one / less reputation / less...

Re: Medical insurance

I don't think dd ever had medical insurance when she was at Bodyworks. They had an on-site medical person there who treated any injuries, or packed them off to A+E if it was serious. I don't recall anyone needing anything major treated. If there is a problem you can ask your GP to recommend you to t...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

My dd is planning to apply to Laine , Urdang, Arts Ed, London Studio Centre, Bird, Performers, Mountview , MGA , Millenium, Bodyworks & Italia Conti. Are there any others that she should consider ? She is a very strong singer and dancer particularly Ballet . Has had no formal drama classes apar...
