Re: Performing arts 6th form colleges

My DD’s friend attends a local dance school a few nights a week and both my DD’s friend and my DD are planning to start at a local 6th form college in Sept (it looks reasonably good - good contact hours and good student destinations, etc). However, the dance school have made a sweeping statement to ...

Lesser known colleges

Hi, I’ve heard of people getting places at for example Morea, Momentum and Sharpe colleges for 3-year courses in MT and I wondered what the standard was like for these? I only ever hear on this site about the main ten or so (like Laine, Arts Ed, Urdang, etc), but I just wondered what other lesser kn...

Re: Performing arts 6th form colleges

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of Kingsclere Performing Arts college? Not one I've heard of before. Is it MT she's interested in? If so, is dance her strength or what she wants to focus on more? This makes it clear that the majority of time will be devoted to dance. Is that what she w...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi, thanks for the replies to my interview question. Sorry, I have another question! We’re applying for musical theatre 6th form at Emil Dale and we’re trying to fill out the ‘what makes you unique?’ question. We’re really struggling with this and wondered if anyone could give us some tips on how to...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi, my DD is applying for musical theatre 6th form and I just wondered what sort of questions she should expect at the interview? I guess they may be similar to those asked for professional training or maybe not, but if anyone has some suggestions, they would be gratefully received. We can think of ...

Re: Performing arts 6th form colleges

My Daughter has just started at Read in Reading. I have been really impressed with both the quality of the training and the pastoral care. Before half-term my daughter was tired, tearful and also a bit angry at home. I phoned and chatted to one of the directors who had also noticed that she was str...

Number of hours for 6th form courses

I just wondered what sort of hours should be expected for musical theatre 6th form college courses. Two near us range from 20-25 hours/week to 8:30-6pm every day but both seem to be doing well. TIA

How soon do you hear back post auditions - 6th form

Hi, just wondering how it works if you audition early for 6th form courses, whether you have to wait until the auditions are over to find out the result or whether you find out sooner? Or does it depend on the college?

Re: Urdang summer school

MygirlsloveMT the Performers was on this year but we missed it!

Do you know how they arranged the age groups? My DD is 15 and she’s keen to know the age range she’ll be with before we commit. Thanks.

Re: Urdang summer school

Is the Urdang summer school any good? My DD is considering it as a friend is going but as it’s a lot of money, want to make sure it’s worth it. She’s 15 and considering attending a performing arts 6th form next year. My 2 girls went in 2018 aged 13 and 17 and loved it, it is a lot of money but they...

Thanks for the reply ACookie, that’s really useful. I did wonder if she was at an awkward age now. Will look into it a bit more.
