Re: Birmingham School of Acting (BSA) - Reserve Lists

I've no experience of BSA but DD was on the reserve list for LIPA and it moved very quickly once the date for confirming places passed. She received a definite offer in the middle of her A level exams ... early June if I remember correctly. I suppose a lot of people get offers from more than one sch...

Re: Over 20+ Playing 14-15 Year Olds

As the Mum of a 20 year old who only gets castings for younger teen roles I am not complaining but I do know what you mean! Sometimes older actors definitely don't look right for the part but sometimes they do ... here's hoping for some good parts soon for your DS and my DD [-o< [-o< [-o<

Re: DD needs a new audition monologue, help?

Check out DNA by Dennis Kelly ... there are some very good and funny monologues for teenage girls in there. There are also some good monologues for teens in Tusk Tusk by Polly Stenham. Hope she finds something she likes!

Re: LIPA recall

Congratulations to your DD! My DD is in her final year there and has lover her time at LIPA and in Liverpool. It's a fab city to be a student in! At LIPA they will definitely be assessing 'acting through song' rather than pure singing ability so the most important thing is to choose something that l...

Glad you both got a refund ... but totally agree that charging an admin fee for something that was their mistake is SO wrong!

Re: How Do I Contact StarNow SO CROSS

I think the only way to contact them is by email. There is a contact us option on the subscription page: http://www.starnow.co.uk/help/Subscription.aspx

Hope you can get it sorted!

Huge congratulations to your DD Katymac! That's brilliant news \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ That takes all the pressure of you and her now so she can really relax and enjoy the rest of her auditions! I'm not surprised you cried ... but hope you are following it up with a large glass of something nice to celebrate...

Re: Advice on Auditions, Rejections etc

Hi Sapphire We are based within the M25, so mostly its West end or nothing and unfortunately dd is too old for all west end parts as she is 15 and over 5". Unfortunately my dd is the first in our family to want to go into MT and we were all unaware of the age restrictions of West end until it ...

Re: Advice on Auditions, Rejections etc

Local theatre groups are also really well worth checking out ... the Royal Exchange at Manchester for example has a fantastic young company ... many of whom are performing in the current production, Scuttlers. Members of the young company also had roles in Hamlet with Maxine Peake. I know there is a...
