Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Scary isn't it x DD has her 5th audition this week at Trinity Laban x She doesn't feel she has a chance but she's just going to go and enjoy it and sparkle as much as she can x Goodluck x They often ask auditionees to do a written test so prepare her for that. They played a piece of music from Para...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Has anyone heard of or does anyone's child go to Brighton Academy? Whilst DC is aiming for one of the more popular schools he's also looking at others. It's just so difficult to tell whether the risk is worth it. I know of Brighton Academy as live just outside. They haven't been going long but char...

Re: Dance question

My ds was just like yours and at 14 /15 was still basically a non-dancer. We found a local dance school , nothing fancy just something in a scout hut. He had jazz and tap lessons once a week and was fortunate enough to pick it up quickly. This really wasn't enough , as he had set his sights on a par...

I would say smarter rather than the jeans theme . For dance they just want to see their body shape, posture etc so I'm sure any dance wear good . Good luck.

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Lots of questions on here about funding . I am aware of government funding forpre-schools and would imagine that DADAs are pretty similar . A requires improvement will see the funding hault for new students ( existing ones are usually fine,at least for that acaedemic year )Osted then revisit within ...

Re: foundation course housing benefit

I think DS application declined 3 times and I battled with the council to get payment. They tried everything to get out of it. Get the college on board. It is their students' best interest to get it .... Good luck

I found the NUS site really useful. https://www.nus.org.uk/en/advice/money- ... student/#1

Don't be put off if they say no and get the school on your side.

Re: Oxford School of Drama Foundation

Have you got the offer at Exeter to study Drams / Spanish ? If you have and are accepting it for the following year why are you doing the foundation? These are usually expensive and intended for prep for auditions usually. I totally agree that doing a masters at a decent drama school may be better....

Re: Auditioning for 2017

Don't worry about places. When you do a foundation course they always like you to audition late . Don't think the foundation students have finished theirs yet. As for the monologue I think it depends on how old the character is. I can't imagine they would want to see a teenager play King Lear but H...

Re: Auditioning for 2017

Wondering if you can help me with 2 questions please. 1. DS has arts ed audition in 10 days. I have heard places get offered as the auditions take place so I presume that by the time the audition will come round there might not be any places left as number of places are limited. Does anyone know ho...
