Re: Duets
Thank you for your help and suggestions. Nicola, the duet was fab but too repetitive. He is going to do Come What May from Moulin Rouge as that is the nearest thing we can find to tick those boxes. All he has to do now is find someone to do it with.

Re: Duets
That's really interesting Nicola as DS played the part of Moonface last month and sang that. The teacher felt that it was too repetitive & only harmony at the chorus so probably wouldn't get good marks. I loved it !!!

Re: open mic
It certainly appears to be a money spinner. It costs to enter, but as they said if you turn up for the second audition. You are however expected to sell loads of tickets & advertise for them. It really wasn't my sort of thing I felt really pressured by the whole experience.

Re: GCSE Music
Thanks for all your comments.I will get DS to find out the board and do the research. Paulears had to laugh at your comments about the music category, I'm afraid DS teacher falls into that category too. He just said that what he sand didn't need to be perfect and that if it was a musical theatre pie...

Re: GCSE Music
He is in a class of 7 & the only vocalist !!! He will have to find a vocalist out of school & they obviously won't be marked so the ensemble piece can be all about him. For his solo he will probably do This is the moment or Empty Chairs as they are deemed to quite a high grade 7 or 8. So far...

DS will have to record his ensemble piece for his gcse music soon & is struggling to think of a song. He has a strong tenor voice & would like to sing a musical theatre song. The main vocal needs to be him and ideally should be accompanied by another vocalist, preferably harmonies to show go...

Agencies in the south yet again!!!!
I know there have been so many posts about agencies put on here, but I find it such a minefield. Do the agencies recruit throughout the year ? Do I need a CV for my DD before approaching them? If anyone knows which tend to be the better ones & receptive to new enquiries, I would appreciate your ...

Re: open mic
They seemed to be letting loads through to the next round. If people didn't do particularly well, they often let them hv another go. Definitely quantity not quality. It is a money making scheme, but perfectly legal. I personally don't want to be wrapped up in it . I know I will ose my deposit, but I ...
