Re: BYMT Summer Camp
You'e not too late for the NYMT summer course - just for the auditioned productions. Or were you looking at a last-minute audition for a BYMT show? Sorry, I had thought you wanted a summer camp.

Re: Does being a boy give you a bigger advantage of getting into a 3 year musical theatre/dance courses?
Interesting question. Boys obviously have less competition in terms of sheer numbers. However, a boy of 18 who wants to perform is probably self-selecting. If they haven't really got what it takes their interest may well have fallen away during the teen years when they invariably encounter teasing i...

Re: Yyr 12 on MT course - what sort of things to do
I'm a bit confused - from what you say your daughter started Year 12 doing just acting, has transferred to MT but her forte is acting? Does she now want to audition for acting or MT post 18? I think you'll get more traffic if you clarify which she wants to go for and therefore what sort of support s...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
Ooh, I’m really glad this thread has been started, I’ve been watching the 2019 one for a while, and now it’s our turn  DD is just finishing first year at sixth form and we’ve started doing some research in where to go next for a musical theatre BA. She’s strongest in singing and acting, and ...

Re: How should I help DS go forwards?
Once he's 10 you can also look at NYMT which is a very fertile training ground for some of the best MT performers. They do have to dance at audition but a boy who is a very strong singer and actor and who will give it a go stands a very good chance.

Re: Help - disastrous Easter school experience!
I think possibly it's not that the course was wrong for your DD, OR that she wasn't really up to the required standard, but the timing of this course coinciding with greater body-consciousness/teenage insecurity generally. It's good she saw it through though. She can't have been the only non-sylph-l...

But Hitchin is on a train route from Cambridge. Fast train is 34 mins . With a YP railcard it would be about £18 a day assuming she travels peak time in the morning, but I imagine you can get a season ticket.

Trinity Laban and GSA would be good options as fully funded. Trinity Laban probably also commutable, although to be honest I suspect by 18 they will want to live independently.
