Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Best of luck to Lawn and ProseccoPlease's DC! Have a wonderful time. @Ditzi, I'm sorry to hear your DD is feeling a bit left behind. Are there any NYT things she could get involved in? Do you live somewhere she could get some work at a local theatre? I'm sure she will soon feel busy enough with mono...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

September is here, so I just wanted to pop on here to say a huge GOOD LUCK to the DC who are starting their training this month after the vicissitudes of the last year of auditioning, and to those who didn't get what they wanted in 2023, much courage and determination for trying again. All the kids ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

my DD has just finished her 3 year BA degree at Chichester doing MT Triple threat. She would not recommended it at all. she loves acting but only received 2 hours a week and voice coaching was limited. lots of dance if thats your thing but but its not triple threat. contact hours are low and the qu...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@Lawn Hoorah! Many congrats to your DD! I hope she has a great time. Sorry to hear about expensive halls though - this whole process is eye-wateringly expensive. Just have to hope they work afterwards!!

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Sending all the best to all the parents going through this with your kids. It’s a never ending roller coaster.. First it’s getting a place at a drama school that you hope for. Then it’s the placing within classes and grading. Then it’s who gets what in the final shows. Then it’s a battle for the ri...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

I hope people who were still waiting for news have had some progress. DS accepted his GSA Acting degree place today. I am very relieved! Congratulations! GSA is amazing, I’m sure he will love his time there. Thank you. I think he will love it too. And I am very relieved he has made a decision as th...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@K8T presumably if your DD declines Chichester this year and reapplies to GSA next year through UCAS, she can also reapply to Chichester? I mean people must withdraw for all kinds of reasons, and she can just say this year wasn't the right time to go in the end, but next year could be. Of course the...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Huge congratulations to Proseccoplease's son, who has done spectacularly well. K8T, it sounds like your DD did well, but if she's not happy with what she got why not spend a year sharpening skills and try again for some colleges she would really want to go to. If she's going for MT just don't let th...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Break a leg to her - hope she enjoys it and it goes really well. My son will accept GSA unless he magically gets a place at Central from the reserve list. He really likes GSA too and would be very happy to go there, but just wants to wait a bit longer and see what happens. Thanks biscuitneeded, she...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Has anyone had any experience with waiting lists eg Conti, Arts Ed, Mountview, Urdang? From what we can see they all work quite differently. My DS is on the reserve list for Acting at Central. They only take 16 students, so he's proud to have got that far, but we can't really sense whether it is ev...

Re: drama school reserve list

Thanks @lotsolaffs, he will definitely contact them again before he needs to accept or decline the other offer. Unfortunately they don't rank the waiting llist so he won't be told he's No 3 or whatever. They only take 16 and they want to balance the cohort, so it would be a case of somebody similar ...
