Re: Hammond school - Chester

Next question please, kind and knowledgeable Hammond parents! Do they allow weekly boarding or is it all or nothing? Website doesn't say, and school office hasn't returned my call (maybe due to summer holidays).
Thanks x

Re: Ology casting agency

There was a thread on this not long ago. We haven't been with them but I know people who have and spoke well of them. If I have done the link properly the other thread should be below. If not - put 'ology' is as the search term. http://notapushymum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=23033&p=2503...

Re: Tring Park - Theatre Arts (Lower School)

Does anyone know if they assess children out of the theatre arts course in the way they do for ballet at vocational schools, or is it once you're in, you're in?

Just in case anyone hasn't spotted it.

We are too far away from any of the locations. I don't know how tightly keston and keston will police the distances...

Re: Hammond school - Chester

There is one dance class per week on the drama course. Some of the drama students who are local to the school attend a local dance school run by an ex Hammond & a current Hammond dance teacher. Thank you, that's helpful to know. We are too far away so DS would have to board, so presumably nothi...

Re: Hammond school - Chester

Just bumping this old thread - does anyone have a DC on the junior school (y7 and up) drama strand at Hammond at the moment? My DS is strong in drama and singing and weak in dance, although he enjoys it. Is there no dance on the drama strand or are there any options to do some? It seems a shame to g...

Re: Comparing exam scores acrosss boards

I would just stop sharing information with people like that. You very quickly find the few people who are genuinely delighted for your DC if they have had a triumph and genuinely supportive when things don't go so well, so seek them out and treasure them. I just go all vague and neutral with everyon...

Re: Child Licence petition

We have had this extra fee in Leeds for a short notice application and the production company paid. Never crossed my mind it might be me paying.

Re: Northern Agency recommendations??

We started with northern agents connected to drama school and are now with a London/Midlands based one. I think they all get access to the same opportunities on Spotlight but when we spoke to London agents some just didnt 'get it' as far as we were concerned. We found it depended hugely on the Londo...

Re: Children working professionally whilst at vocational school

Another question for those in the know... If DCs go to SY or other theatre schools which have their own agencies do they have to join that agency to carry on working whilst at the school? DS has a lovely agent who we would be loathe to part from so just wondering if you can stick with own representa...

Re: Clueless! What classes to do?

If you are concerned about your existing dance school then it is definitely worth exploring other teachers and schools. Balletcoforum is a wonderful source of advice for what to look out for and what is and is not acceptable practice in the industry. I know it is tempting to plan everything ahead of...
