Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
Can anyone suggest the nearest hotel/guest house to Bird College for audition day - nearest and best value I’ve found is the Travel Lodge - 11 min walk to Bird - Thought I’d ask before booking :-) There’s the premier inn which is just near the train station which is around a 5-10 minute walk to bir...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
Thanks everyone! She's a dancer, not a singer although she tries! And she forgot her monologue half way through due to nerves 🤦 so she wasn't really expecting anything from Bird 😁 Well done to your DD, it’s so nerve wracking for them and us parents!! Good luck with the rest of the audition process 🤞🍀

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
So does it depend on the course they are doing? Does it need to be a foundation course as opposed to sixth form? The diploma students don’t get it as it’s a higher education course, they justify it as foundation course is further education like 6th form. Not sure if this is specific to Epsom counci...

My DD is 16 on foundation at Laine and has been able to claim housing benefit. We were really surprised but when I called the council to confirm they were really helpful and said ‘is she doing foundation at Laine?’ and had to supply letter confirming where and who she was living with, fill a form ou...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019
Thanks for all the helpful responses. Sadly DS has withdrawn from Bird after 4 weeks torturing himself because after his GCSE results he realised that however much he wants to do MT he just wasn't ready to leave home. He's only just told them so one lucky DC will get the call today!! Congratulation...
