Re: Casting query: am clueless!
Sunshine, I'd like to also add, that your child can go for an amazing opportunity, not get it (even when the child thinks it was their best ever audition so far), feel a bit despondent and start wondering if all the the back and forth to auditions is worth it, then when you least expect it another a...

Re: Mt Stink
I know, I know....! However, at least they saw your child! They could just not bother. My own feeling is the Casting Directors are happy to look at all and try and find new talent but the Production Company/Director likes the kudos and promotional aspect of an already known young actor. Look on it a...

Re: The benefits of student film
Didnt have time to read this fully, but my instant answer would be - go for final year films if you are short of time. They are more reliable. There are of course some amazingly run 1st year films but it seems you are lucky if you get one of those.

I have to agree with bcnups. Constructive critism from me is that staying anonymous doesn't instill a vote of confidence on our part or any transparency on your part. Makes me distrustful if I'm honest. Hope this helps.

Just looked you up (out of interest). I can't find a website for you or a link explaining your background in the industry - are you setting up a website? All I managed to find was a new twitter account.

Re: Open Act Agency Books are Now Open
I live in Brighton and several of my DDs' dancing friends are with this agency. They're very friendly and do get their kids lots of castings. They take on a small number of children so look after their clients well. That's good to hear. Interested to know what 'type' of castings they get their kids...

Ah, those Directors are often loathe to part with their film for a long long time. But its your right to ask.

Agencies for Child Acting Only
Has there been a disuccsion on agencies that only deal with children who Act? IE, not an Agent Agent who combines with commercial work. Are there any purely Acting child Agencies out there and if so how good are they?

Re: Top Talent - August Auditions
Had a look at Top Talent's website. They say they only take on really top talent (forgive pun), they say they like their children to attend acting classes(fair enough) but then they say they also represent children who have that 'raw' natural talent that many CD's so desperately want. So does that m...

Agree!!
This would be a great topic by Jessica Laing for her next Spotlight piece and the above sentence should be used in CAPS!

Re: Is this legitimate
If its a first film do ask how likely this film is to be completed/finishsed and if there is a guarantee you will see footage and when. (often first year films involve a lot of young, inexperienced students who all fall out with each other when, eg, one can't get out of the bed after several days. T...

Re: Bonnie and Bettie vs Kids London Ltd
All fair points and good to read different perspectives and yes you are right PG, its a very unfair industry. Wow, so some people will have 'permission' to be with several agencies - well that explains it then. Lucky them. Oh bless you Sophies Socks, you must have been concerned that others would th...
