Re: Fully funded BA MT Sept 2020 - Advice sought
2 of the previous EDA 6th formers/BTEC (their first intake) have got into ArtsEd and Mountview but both decided to leave as they had offers for professional work, something they couldn’t have done whilst at college. One just finished in Bat Out of Hell, the other is in Club Mex, then going straight ...

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?
Emil Dale Accademy have introduced a degree course starting from this year, with access to student finance. It’s triple threat with syllabus written specifically for them. Definitely worth considering.

Unfortunately I don’t think I can give you any advice, but I’m so glad you posted this as we have the same dilemma (year 9 dd and I). Following with interest x

Re: Just looking for some reassurance/advice
I totally agree with what’s been said, as I share all feelings. My dd is in year 9 and got very close to being cast in WE shows several times, she got in 1 professional production and had quite a few leading roles locally over the years, and others which she thought she would get but didn’t. She is ...

Aah, that’s fantastic, I’m sooo glad it’s worked out in the end, having their parents support is imperative for any child!

Re: What to do when parents are unsupportive?
I think your dd’s friend should have a serious talk to her parents and emphasise how much this is the career/path she wants to take and that not having their support brings her down and that she wants to take that risk. It is a worry for all parents as this industry is so unpredictable, but I believ...

I have first hand experience of them, I would advise to stay away! I think I was the one that started a thread a few years ago, I agree with Caroline.

I remember reading a similar post on here, I can’t remember under what section or title, sorry. I haven’t been in this situation so can’t comment from experience, but I’m of the opinion that if he wants to take a break, let him do so. I don’t think insisting that he carries on would make him want to...

Re: London college of music
Hi LiveTheDream, My DS goes to LCM. He's in the first year of the 3 year Degree course. Hes really enjoying it so far. He says the teachers are really good and he loves his lessons. Hes more of an actor singer than a dancer and although they do do dance i think the course is weighted more to actor ...

Re: What to do in Hitchin for 5 hrs!
Lotsolaffs you’re very welcome! For those thinking about walking from the station, there are different ways you can go, in my opinion this is the quickest route: as you come out of Hitchin station, keep on the right hand side pavement. Cross the road at the traffic lights (Tesco express on your left...

Re: What to do in Hitchin for 5 hrs!
There’s also a swimming pool close to the town centre if you’re that way inclined. Walking from the station (via Ransoms park shortcut) takes about 15 minutes, I do it with my dd twice a week in the evening, so it’s doable. Walk into town is about half an hour from Edsa and 15 minutes from the stati...

The role for 11-12 was non singing. I have the impression the singing ones were for an older age group.
