Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Nice to see people posting again. DS finally sent off some of his applications but has a couple he still needs to do! He's another last-minute type.... So far DS has done really well; it feels wrong to go into any detail in case I jinx anything (!) but he's had some really nice news of recalls in a...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Well done to those with offers and good luck to everyone else! Dd is yet to submit self tapes and to fill in application forms for some schools (leaving it so late makes me nervous!). So far she has only submitted a self tape to Lamda - got rejected for BA, told she would be considered for foundatio...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
I think you provide an email address of the referee, they then get told how to submit their reference, and then when it's submitted you can complete and submit the full application. So it is worth contacting the referee separately and asking them to do it as quickly as they can so as not to miss an...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
CUCAS is basically how you apply to Conservatoires such as The Royal College of Music, Royal Welsh and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It’s through the UCAS website but you apply separately to your UCAS choices but it means you get another 5 choices. It works slightly differently in that it’s not ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Maintenance loans are only for first degrees. DADAs can be awarded for the Trinity Diploma. Not everyone however is awarded one and for the majority of people, a student loan with a maintenance loan is far more desirable - hence people opting for student finance at places like Mountview and ArtsEd ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with Drama Studio London in Grange Court London W5. My dd has been offered a place on the 1 year course in Acting and wondered how their training is and their productions as well as any work opportunities after the training. Do they easily get agent representatio...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Can someone clarify for me please, if the college doesn’t qualify for student loans, only for dadas, does that mean that you can’t apply for a government maintenance loan? I know you can get some maintenance loan with a dada (up to £30000 income), but what happens if you don’t qualify for that?

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Yes I did, it was great wasn’t it! Dd was in group 4, she absolutely loved the whole experience, the people she met, the supportive environment and the independence. She had the time of her life and feels like she’s learnt a lot not just about acting, but about herself.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Hi biscuitneeded, I’m glad you’ve started this thread. Dd is in the exactly same position as your ds, she’s in the process of making her shortlist of places she’d like to audition for - straight acting as well. Doing the NYT intake course this summer has confirmed this is definitely the path she wan...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Thanks for your response. Yes she has already done a 3 year Diploma in Musical Theatre at a London Drama School. She wants to pursue acting though. Their 1 year diploma is changing into a Masters in Professional Acting so it gives an ideal qualification and we would get funding. She would not have ...

Re: The end or the start - who knows
So, yesterday dd left full time training. After a lot of training was lost at her first college and her agent showcase was cancelled due to covid she decided to do a postgraduate course. Unfortunately funding/finances means that she only completed the Core part of that course where she performed in...

Re: The end or the start - who knows
I suppose they don't usually move students from the 1 year core to their masters as there is an additional year that can be taken after the core (even if the 2 separate years can be stand alone). At the same time I suppose they don't get usually get students like your daughter who have already done ...
