Re: Urdang Result

And rejected xxx Ahhhh....I hope your dd isn't too disappointed Marissa. It's still very early in the audition process, and she will end up at the place right for her, even if it isn't her 1st choice right away. My dd auditioned last year and had a rejection from Urdang, but the college's all seem ...

Re: Leave home at 15?

Hi Dodger'mum Congratulations to your DS! My only concern would be that if he is 15 when he starts the Btec then I'm guessing he would still be 17 when he finishes it? I may be wrong but I am under the impression that colleges such as Guildford, Mountview etc have a minimum age requirement of 18. If...

Re: Passport style photographs

I think by passport stlye, they just mean a head and shoulders shot, printed off in the size of a passport photo. They won't require professional headshots, just ensure it's a good likeness and very recent.

Re: Vocational training at 16

To Hilltop There is no right or wrong answer as ithis is very much a personal thing. Some go at 16, some wait. We waited until DD was 18 because she was very small and physically mmature. I don't think she was ready at 16 especially if she were to move away. However I know other's that have gone at ...

We are just starting applications for 2018 entry mix of diploma and degree for Laine, Performers, Urdang, Millenium and maybe a couple more classical ballet based. My dd will be 18 and is doing a level 3 extended diploma in dance and performing arts at Harlow college. The course is very professiona...

How can you not know until your 1st day? This information is available at all the open days, and if not then you just ask. I wouldn't dream of sending my DD to a college without finding out the intake. Bizzare xxxx

Ahhh.....dancemum43, mixed emotions I am sure! But how wonderfully exciting for all the DC's moving away for college/Uni. I get to keep my DD at home, but I know she would have liked to have the experience of moving away....thinking off all the parents missing their babies..lots of love x xxx

Re: What do people mean by "scholarships" for performing arts courses?

Hi Scarytimes. Scholarships are given at the discretion of the college to the auditionees that they feel show the most talent/promise. The colleges use their own money so they can give these to who they like and they are not usually means tested. They can range from a fee reduction to a full scholar...
